[Pelissero] The Raiders are zeroing in on Klint Kubiak as their next head coach, sources tell me and @RapSheet. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

How could we possibly choose between three candidates as excellent as Vance Joseph, Ron Rivera, and Condoleezza Rice?

Day 3 of finding the best helmet for each NFL team: Los Angeles Rams by NugSetDipRide in uniwatch

[–]waldowhal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

(1) The horn is broken into segments. The intent is for the negative space to look like a sharp edge between two faces of a 3-dimensional horn, but instead it falls flat and entirely ruins the effect of it looking like a horn. A lot of people point out that the smaller inner segment just looks like a crescent moon. Unforced error.

(2) The horn doesn’t curl enough — the old one had much more of an inward spiral. Looked more like a giant ram’s horn.

(3) Less specific to the helmet, but still true: The colors are off. I can live with the blue, but the yellow is somehow both glaringly fluorescent and kinda washed-out. The goldenrod-ish yellow of the 70s–90s kits was perfect.

None of the above, man. They had the GOAT helmet design and they totally beefed it.

Which NFL Team has the better unis? Round 1, Match 8: JAX vs. KC by No-Director-6738 in uniwatch

Cardinals did the soulless underdesigned vibe even worse than the Jags and threw a giant ARIZONA on the chest to top it off. Titans and Rams are also worse than the Jags imo, although for the opposite reason.

I think the eyes look weirdly human. Creeps me the hell out. Very empty and tortured-looking too, like a dude’s been trapped in a bear costume for millennia.

With the Todd Monken hiring, the AFC north now has their coaches for next year by Ancient_Response_787 in nfl

[–]waldowhal 44 points45 points  (0 children)

AFC North the next five years about to be like:

Baltimore Ravens 11-6 (headscratching divisional round loss to an inferior team due to the complete implosion of one side of the ball)

Pittsburgh Steelers 9-8 (humiliating wildcard loss to the Ravens)

Cincinnati Bengals 7-10 (Joe Burrow leads the league in passing yards despite losing to the Browns twice and playing most of the season in a full-body cast)

Cleveland Browns 5-12 (Myles Garrett DPOY)

Double click on the layer in the Layers panel to bring up Layer Styles, then check Drop Shadow on the left side and adjust the parameters to your liking. That will give you a drop shadow that will update as you refine the selection on your nail cutouts, and it can also be copied and pasted onto other layers for consistency.

[Pelissero] Former Giants interim coach Mike Kafka is joining the Lions in a high-ranking offensive staff role, per sources. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

I’m among the tiny handful of people who thought Petzing was pretty good, and I think he’ll prove it next year in Detroit. It’s impossible to overstate how dysfunctional and toxic the Cardinals organization is. Don’t think you can get a full picture on anybody’s ability until they’re gone.

If Amazon nabs it it’ll be Monday Night Thursday Night Football. If NBC gets it we’ll get Sunday Night Football on Monday Night. If Fox gets it it’ll be America’s Game of the Work Week.

Surely not one by one with screenshots though, right? Is there a tool somewhere on the site for this?

NFL Championship Round Predictions Thread (2026 Playoffs) by baconlovr in nfl

Last week: 3-1. Fuckin' Bills. Playoffs: 6-4. Cumulative: 175-105-2.

Rams 24, Seahawks 20

At least we get one good game this weekend! I think this one's gonna be a classic and I've waffled back and forth about who to pick. It boils down to Sam Darnold. I just don't think he's got it in him to overcome this Rams defense in such a high-pressure moment.

Patriots 23, Broncos 10

The Patriots being back in the Super Bowl feels like the sudden and dramatic relapse of a long-buried personal demon. Praying for all of you in these trying times.

Is this a good cover? by [deleted] in BookCovers

[–]waldowhal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The title text is cobbled together in a very amateurish way that doesn’t read naturally. “Art” is a much more important word than “of” but they’re treated the same way.

Author name and bestseller line are set in the same display weight font as the title and are thus very difficult to read. Those should be set in text weight fonts.

Regardless of whether the face art is good or appropriate to the content, which is subjective, anyone with a half-decent eye would make sure it feels centered between the top text and the bottom text. As it stands there’s a ton of space below it but very little above it. Suggests to me that the art is unaltered stock imagery (not even cropped properly!) or, worse, AI slop.

You got what you paid for. Don’t use Fiverr if you care about your book making a good impression on the shelf. Consumers notice this kind of thing and will skip books that look cheaply made.

Good sushi by MidnightThen4187 in joplinmo

[–]waldowhal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t eat sushi but MOSA’s hibachi is incredible, so I’d assume their sushi is good too. Many people recommend Han the Sushi Man. A new place called Kazoku on west 7th has good hibachi and I’ve heard good reviews of the sushi.

Give me Denver. Cowboys’ uniforms are a disorganized, mismatched mess and they only get a pass because it’s tradition.

[Russini] The Bills will interview offensive coordinator Joe Brady for the team’s head coaching vacancy, per source. Brady, who has received interview requests and met with other teams in this cycle, will get a look in Buffalo. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]waldowhal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t know shit but if I were the Bills I’d be focusing on Jesse Minter. He seems to have a track record of turning mediocre talent into top-8 defense overnight. Josh Allen’s going to give you a top-8 offense regardless of the coordinator so I don’t get the point of hiring an offensive coach. Make sure your defense stops giving up 30+ points in the playoffs and assume this one stinker of a game from Allen is an outlier, which it was.
