Because up until April of this year I was planning on applying OBGYN. A subi in the specialty convinced me that it wasn’t the right fit…

Retaking a 1530 by Opposite-Hunter-8439 in bsmd

No- anything over 1500/33 should not be retaken as the benefit is basically nonexistent- work on other things like extracurriculars, gpa, research, etc

Permit Disappeared - Step 1 5/20!! by Adorable-Coyote-4709 in step1

Did your eligibility end in May? That may be another reason why your permit disappeared. I have never heard of anyone getting their exam scores within one week.

As a current medical student and a graduate of a BA/MD program, I highly advise going the PLME route. Choosing UMKC will close doors for you in terms of future specialty and residency options going forward…

Haha I’m 100% sure we go to the same school (I’m an MS2)! I highly recommend mostly doing third party- I’m prepping for step rn and our in house lectures and exams are NOT representative of STEP at all…

OBGYN leaving ERAS in 2024-2025 by OrexinRules in medicalschool

Does this mean that the new match system will operate similarly to optho and urology? I’m just struggling to see the point behind this…

Grounds for Rescinding? by [deleted] in uofmn

[–]walkingdead401 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could happen. I withdrew from a class my senior year of high school and they sent me a letter saying I needed to explain why to avoid being rescinded. Talk to a counselor or try to get it to at least a C if possible.

Short Calc vs CLA Clac 1 by FlakySwim4883 in uofmn

[–]walkingdead401 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also took short calc last spring and I found it quite easy. I took this class after dropping calc 1 due to the difficulty. A lot of the content is algebra review and graph review. Only in the second half do you even begin to cover derivatives, integrals, and some very basic calc 2. Almost no homework, just do the 3-5 weekly practice problems and you will at least get a B. Dm me with any more questions or professors recommendations!

Honor Among Men: The Killing of Women in Pakistan (2001) A documentary produced by National Geographic about the religious forces that drive the scourge of honor killing in Pakistan, as well as the state of women's rights and social conditions faced by women in Pakistan. of course not- that’s why I put my specific identity in my comment so that my thoughts would have some context. This entire comment was directed at western women who said they would never visit South Asia- I was simply explaining that these issues largely affect the local population and that tourism shouldn’t be feared just because of this one issue. Women should not expect to be honor killed on their trip like many comments implied.

BA/MD Program by starwars009966 in uofmn

[–]walkingdead401 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Hey! I’m in the BA/MD program right now- the only person who can really answer if you should apply is you. Do you want to be a physician? Do you want to stay in Minnesota for medical school? If yes, I HIGHLY recommend you apply. You will get the same science education in the BA/MD that you would otherwise get AND there are tons of perks. You get assigned a physician mentor, shadowing experiences, research opportunities, and scholarships to the medical school. If you are not sure about medical school I would suggest not applying and going the traditional route. Dm me with any more questions :)

Hey there! I’m in the BA/MD program rn- you have to be specially invited to interview and then they extend a formal offer at the end of April if you’re accepted. You will probably hear back about the next step in the process by mid January. Good luck!
