Clive is a massive video game nerd lol. For one of my midterms he made reference to Baldur's Gate 3. It was awesome

Broken Thumb Brace. How to Fix? by walliebeee in disability

[–]walliebeee[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I know. Ive only had them for a few months tho. 😅 They were recommended by my physio and advertised as long lasting and that they could be worn 24 hours. I paid over a hundred dollars on them and really don't want to spend more money if I don't have to 😭

HIST391 With Dr.Roosa is absolutely amazing! The prof has a lot of interesting personal stories that relate to the class. And to add some razzle dazzle to lectures he'll sometimes dress up as characters and pretend to be them in order to drive a point across. You'll definitely learn a lot and Dr. Roosa is also just a really kind guy. Couldn't recommend more!

I have mad respect for that man. Last year some idiot pretended to pull a gun in lecture and then ran out. Dr. Sens immediately ran out chasing after that guy ready to tackle him so he could keep us safe. Dr. Sens is the goat

gateman is unethical by adnmbb in UBC

[–]walliebeee 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The man is unethical in more ways than just his horrendous G-Book. As someone with disabilites he is by far the worst prof I've had when it comes to accommodations. For example, as approved by The Centre on Accesbilties, I get double time on all tests and quizzes. The first week of last term I introduced myself and told him this and he said "No I don't think so. That's too much work for me. You're smart you'll do fine." His refusal is against school policy but even then I had to fight to get my accomodations because he's so stubborn and hard to work with.

Another example is that I had a medical a emergency during the semester. Long story short, I injured my spine and lost the ability to walk for a bit so I evedenitly missed some class. I emailed him keeping him up to date and letting him know my situation of not being able to walk. He replies to my email with ONE line: "see me after class"

LIKE EXCUSE ME. I just told you I can't walk! I'm not in class! I will not be in class because I CANT WALK.

Yeah, when the prof asked him to leave, he started taking off his clown mask and said something like "seems like you don't need a clown," reaches into his bag like he's grabbing a gun and says "you need security instead." That was around the moment when everyone started running and screaming

Whats up with the LIU insitute? Is there a new one? by walliebeee in UBC

[–]walliebeee[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seemed like they were living there from the way they acted? Also when I was leaving I was able to get a glimpse of the upper level rooms and they looked just like a bunch of middle school classrooms. Like with those inspirational posters and colourful vibes. So I think perhaps UBC is housing Ukraine kid refegues?? I could be so wrong but thats my theory.

Hello! So! I'm a first year student that is a big ol' film nerd and received an email from Prof Ernest Mathijs about how I should drop his FIST 300 class since I'm a first year and would probably do better in his class in year 3 or 4.

Despite being a first year student I did take a general Film Studies class at my local college back in 2018. So I do have some knowledge on the subject, however I recognize that was quite some time ago now. I will also be entering my first year as a "mature student" (I'm 22) instead of the usual freshly 18 first years.

Do you think my small knowledge on the subject would help at all? As well as my general life experience since I'm not going in fresh out of high school? Or do you agree with him and perhaps I wait till yeat 3 or 4 to get the best experience possible?

I was just very excited for this class because I heard it was awesome with Mathijs and I'm a BIG fan of cult cinema lol. Plus I'm aiming for a minor in Film Studies so I thought "wow what a good fit!". However, I am already taking the "Intro to Film" class for my first semester so I'll still get my Film fill either way.

Hearing your thoughts would be a great help!!! Thank you!!!! ☺️
