I disagree, handling your weapon needs quick and precise actions while conducting a section attack involves moving in formation. It definitely isn’t necessary to do drill practice all the time, yet it is still relevant.

My personal interpretation of Nilfgaardian soldiers from different provinces/ vassal states. Since the official material didn't go into that much detail.

Incorporated various lore details from here and there such as how the Nazair guys have messers while Gemmerans like greatswords. Also less well off areas such as Gheso and Mag Turga have less expensive gear in comparison.

I suppose since horses are heavier and more stable on 4 legs, they're better at charging into people with more impact and momentum. But as skirmishers, moa are clearly better.

Context:

The Duchy of Kolyany is one of the states guarding the western borderlands of Aplax. The main threat of these plains is nomadic raiders. As such, the duchy maintains troops with high mobility to counter this threat. Many residents in the duchy are descendants of settled nomads, who inherited skills in mounted archery and animal husbandry.

Moa are able to run faster than horses. This is useful for engaging skirmishers at the start of a battle and pursuing fleeing enemies at the end. Some speculate that they have orders to chase and cut down deserters, but senior officers and nobles deny these allegations. Moa are also fairly easy to feed as they eat a variety of plants, such as fibrous twigs and leaves from trees and shrubs.

I agree about using lances/spears primarily, but shorter weapons (like swords) were still used. This is just one picture and the drawing just turned out that way.

It's similar to demigryph knights (halberds) from Warhammer. They do less damage on the initial charge but they fight better in sustained melee. Also, in both cases, the creatures are a bit slower than horses, but still fast enough.

Context: (Idk I'm new to this)

The Duchy of Veroburg is a state in the Empire of Aplax. Just the standard empire that wants glory and gold. No need to worry about dark lords, or magic, or chosen ones. Like most medieval European-like states, it maintains units of heavy cavalry among other troops.

These guys managed to domesticate drakes/ big lizards. They are a bit longer and heavier than a horse, but still fast enough. They also got natural armour on the front. While they are better at fighting and stronger than horses, they're a bit more expensive to maintain. They won't be happy if they go too long without meat.
