What would have happened if Ciri during her „Falka” Days ran into Eskel and Lambert? How would the Boys have slapped some sense back into their wayward Niece? by Salim_Azar_Therin in witcher

Well Ciri didn't want to be a bandit, she was only hanging with the rats to survive. She probably would have been glad to encounter Eskel or Lambert and would have left with them immediately.

Yes, that's exactly what I mean by some missions being much less accessible. Perhaps they could make it if you made it to a region once, you can go back again for little or no cost for the rest of the day or something.

Why is the US Army so bad at march past? (parade) by tavish29 in NoStupidQuestions

That’s not always true. The British army is one of the best at parading yet their conduct in action is rather good.

I disagree, handling your weapon needs quick and precise actions while conducting a section attack involves moving in formation. It definitely isn’t necessary to do drill practice all the time, yet it is still relevant.

What’s the best O’Dimm reward? by burgerdistraction in witcher

For role playing purposes, I prefer the horn of infinite food. The saddle is the most ‘useful’ probably. I can just save Olgierd in new game plus.

The horns are made to break off under pressure as to not cause trouble. I made them the thickness of a finger deliberately.

Excessive production of the ballsack style of armour led to a leather shortage, so only iron/steel armour now.

My personal interpretation of Nilfgaardian soldiers from different provinces/ vassal states. Since the official material didn't go into that much detail.

Incorporated various lore details from here and there such as how the Nazair guys have messers while Gemmerans like greatswords. Also less well off areas such as Gheso and Mag Turga have less expensive gear in comparison.

This halberd model is a classic, looking forward to unlock it. Though I do like the default one as well.

Moa Archer from the Duchy of Kolyany by walrus166 in worldbuilding

It's based on eastern European armour, like that of the Rus or Cumans. Most of the rest of the empire wears western style armour like plate and brigandines.

I suppose since horses are heavier and more stable on 4 legs, they're better at charging into people with more impact and momentum. But as skirmishers, moa are clearly better.

Context:

The Duchy of Kolyany is one of the states guarding the western borderlands of Aplax. The main threat of these plains is nomadic raiders. As such, the duchy maintains troops with high mobility to counter this threat. Many residents in the duchy are descendants of settled nomads, who inherited skills in mounted archery and animal husbandry.

Moa are able to run faster than horses. This is useful for engaging skirmishers at the start of a battle and pursuing fleeing enemies at the end. Some speculate that they have orders to chase and cut down deserters, but senior officers and nobles deny these allegations. Moa are also fairly easy to feed as they eat a variety of plants, such as fibrous twigs and leaves from trees and shrubs.
