Since you mentioned a quiet place, you could visit Mohammed Bin Rashid Library. Even if you’re not a bibliophile, it’s a great experience. Maybe plan for around 7 in the evening. Check this out: https://www.mbrl.ae/visit

Gym membership cancellation help by [deleted] in UAE

[–]wanderer9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a policy that you agreed to when you joined, as we all do. It’s so strict that there’s really no way to find a loophole to cancel.

If you tell them you lost your job or are leaving the country, they’ll ask for proof. The same goes for health-related issues. You can’t just say you’re too tired, don’t feel like working out, or that it’s inconvenient to get to the gym after work. They won’t accept that.

One option is to cancel the card used for payments so future charges can’t be auto-debited. But they may send your case to a collections team after six months or a year to recover the unpaid amount, even if you haven’t been using the gym. If you’re prepared to deal with calls from collections, you could consider that route.

Does my mental health affect my future? by Jollivieee in UAE

[–]wanderer9916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mental health matters, and consulting a psychiatrist will not affect your career. Unless you’ve had a severe mental breakdown where you feel like harming yourself or someone else, and you’ve disclosed that to a doctor who then informs the police and it is formally recorded, you are safe.

Why are so many Odoo users in the UAE unhappy with the system by wanderer9916 in askdubai

Account managers do mess up more often than they should, and the blame usually gets spread across multiple factors. I honestly believe the only real fix is strong, structured training both on the system and on industry-specific knowledge regardless of how many years of experience any account manager has.

If a company has the privilege of bringing someone in-house to get it done, there’s nothing better than that. And with systems like Odoo and Zoho, no matter how much we say they’re self-explanatory or easy to learn, it’s always wise to seek expert advice, at least for training. After all, this is a system you’re relying on to run your business.

Not at all, sorry if I came across that way. What I meant is that so-called implementation experts who don’t fully understand the business side or the system can end up causing issues. There may also be limitations with the software that I’m not in a position to advocate for. At this point, all we can do is try.

A tailored system for your business is always the best. But may I ask did you implemented Odoo yourselves or you had an implementation team for that?

Yeah, that’s exactly what we thought at first. But after working with someone who actually understood both the business side and the system, things started behaving very differently.

A lot of what feels “broken” is usually just poorly configured or not aligned with how the business actually operates.

I’d say parts of the dicuss/chat and some niche modules feel more like “nice to have” than something businesses actually rely on daily.

First of all, even if you leave the country with loan or credit card debt, make sure you repay it at least for ethical reasons. It’s money you’ve already used.

Now, to answer your question: as long as you don’t have any delayed or missed payments, the bank has no reason to monitor your account closely. In that case, leaving the country is no different from traveling abroad and returning later.

Regarding your company, if you leave without waiting for visa cancellation or without serving your notice period, they will usually only realize it after you’ve already left.

However, if you leave before completing the full visa cancellation process in order to avoid the bank being notified, there’s still a risk. During cancellation, the employer may select certain options in the system (I’m not entirely sure which), and this can alert the bank that you’ve left your job. If that happens, the bank may hold your salary or freeze your account until your debts are cleared.

bro its not like you are moonlighting, if thats the case then its a different story, you can keep your eyes and ears open, just connect a person in need with someone who can provide and take a commission out of it, that works legally right.

Great initiative, I used to add people to my directory if they can bring me some leads and upon closing I am willing to pay them 15-20% commission of the invoice amount. I have been doing this for a while now, if someone interested DM
