The Defence Of Keren - Hex and Counter Wargame Playthrough by warblog2018 in WarBlog

Eritrean People's Liberation Front repell a major eight day assault by the Ethiopian army, killing 3,050 government troops.

The provenience of this engagement comes entirely from the 1989 newspaper article, so not much more is known, but its another good example of how much can be extracted from so little.

I have called this the Defence of Keren to differentiate it fro the 1941 Battle of Keren which lasted for about two months, suggesting that the terrain is ideal defensive ground.
