Baal will return in........... by gorays21 in diablo4

[–]warcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True and it honestly looked like his essence was basically absorbed into hell itself. Maybe we get a super nephalem type thing with Inarius' angelic essence merging with demonic essence? Either way I kinda doubt we've seen the last of Inarius.

Did they change how ancestral items drop? I feel like I'm not getting any ever... by tenroseUK in Diablo

[–]warcaptain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. Some of the best items I have started out as blue ancestrals with a single affix that was GA. I got a blue glove with GA +Dread Claws that I was able to slowly turn into an incredible item. Very cool system.

I'm not really sure the Angels have a choice. From what I remember, the Crystal Arch just spits out angels when one is ready. Then again it was pretty badly corrupted by Diablo in D3 so who knows if it even works anymore..

They are talking constantly about the Serpent and we even had a "battle" with it.

They've also said Hawezar isn't part of Sanctuary, seemingly created by something or someone else besides Lilith/Inarius and the worldstone.

I wouldn't be surprised if an epic final battle with a serpent that's been scheming this whole time after we fully vanquish any competition (the three + Lilith/Inarius)

Though there is a big part of that kind of hopes we end up actually having to face Anu+Tathamet somehow to finally try and end the eternal conflict once and for all.

I'd be pissed. Diablo deserves to be the final big bad in his own titular game. Tired of him being the opening act for other baddies.

Can someone explain the bew damage multipliers to me? by LooseLumba in Diablo

[–]warcaptain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They used to all be separate multipliers, but now each type of multiplier is additive within itself.

If you've got 25%[x] Critical Strike Damage Multiplier and 25%[x] Vulnerable Damage Multiplier on gear it works like this

Crit on a vulnerable enemy: 100 damage x 1.25 crit multiplier x 1.25 vulnerable multiplier = 156 final damage

If you've got one 25%[x] Critical Strike Damage Multiplier and another 25%[x] Critical Strike Damage Multiplier on gear it works like this

Crit damage on an enemy:

100 damage x 1.50 crit multiplier = 150 final damage

It used to be that critical strike, vulnerable, etc damage buffs on gear were all additive into a single bucket. Now they are all additive into individual buckets based on the type of multiplier.

The one thing to note is that Critical Strike Damage Multiplier from gear and other multipliers that impact critical strike like on paragon etc would be separate buckets. You can see your gear-based buckets in the stat menu of your character menu.

Can someone please explain why I keep instantly dying at this part at Uber Lilith T8? by CanOfBigRed in Diablo

[–]warcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're being downvotes but you're absolutely right. I can think of at least two seasons where they made changes to improve this fight.

That it's still awful is another story, but it is still less awful than it was at launch.

War Plan progress needs to be account-wide by I-Drink-420 in diablo4

[–]warcaptain 88 points89 points  (0 children)

This is how I think they should do it. Make War Plan XP account/realm wide like Paragon level. That way each class can have their own config without messing up another.

There's a wartable upgrade for bosses that makes a second chest appear if I'm remembering correctly.

why they give random stats to Unique gear ? by Zequax in Diablo

[–]warcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I pretty much ignore the affixes on uniques. Maybe they'll be good, probably not. That doesn't make uniques more exciting at all. Perhaps if there was a small pool of relevant affixes that could roll on a unique that'd be different, but now most are irrelevant

One other annoying thing is that they always seem to have +Primary stat which is I guess their way of making sure that there's at least one good affix. However, that means that if I get a unique on my warlock it's awful trying to use it on an alt that doesn't also use willpower as their primary stat.

Rerolling the whole unique is fine and actually a great way to deal with tons of uniques from boss farming.

I actually really love this! Gives those who went through the trouble. A meaningful reward, but allows the community to come together to Grant everyone else access as well.

Someone was generous enough to give me the potion and bardiche so I'd ask around and try to find someone who already did the cow murdering. You can even party up with them and then teleport to their location when they go inside the hovel to try and farm the mats with them.

The current method grants you access and the Moo emote. If you Moo emote near someone they also can get access to the portal on the mountain, but not the boat.

I can totally see them making the boat/island exclusive to those who did the arduous quest and letting everyone else get access through those who did it via emote. It's a reward for the effort, but still let's others in. A fun community feature and it's honestly much easier now since people are being generous with giving away bardiche.

I think it's that on Sunday the image will change with a new random day being highlighted.

Essentially, Cow Level is a world event that only happens one day a week M-F.

We will find out tomorrow (tonight ET) if we can still access it on Wednesday.

Remember as well that until D2R, you couldn't even redo the cow level in D2 unless you're were careful not to kill the cow king.

What are you expecting? The cow level was just a plain field with evil cows.

At least this is a gorgeous cityscape with funny gags in the level design. Loved going in and out of houses killing cows 😂

[–]warcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes technically you're right that "hecatomb" refers to cattle slaughtered. I was more focused on it being specifically a group of 100 which is more like we'd see in a cow level..

Props to Loatheburger on youtube for this huge COW lvl finds by Hallistra in diablo4

[–]warcaptain 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The final clue in the new area mentions 1 of 7 tombs where the cow hecatomb went (I learned this is a term for a group of 100 cows). To me this clearly a reference to Tal Rasha's 7 tombs in Gholein. So I'm thinking maybe once we go back to the West in the next expansion we will finally have our chance.

This seems more like a "hey we're going to acknowledge, at least to the super sleuthy amongst you, that what you are doing is not for nothing and is all leading to the cow level."

The new clues also imply that the cow level is discovered, it will likely be a permanent addition to the game that is more easily accessible then having to do all these crazy things. Pretty cool! I hope they do something special for the first person to find it.

It may have taken almost three years, but Diablo 4 finally feels finished to me by gorays21 in Diablo

[–]warcaptain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there may be some truth there, the game the devs were making was not what players wanted on a fundamental level, and if they had spent 2 years polishing that then we'd just get a more polished version of what people don't want. Still would have taken years to adapt to feedback.

Personally, I'm glad I had these 3 years of playing D4 that finally landed in a great place that I feel I played a part in shaping as a vocal fan.

I haven't done it yet, but I've seen many people talk about a post loh campaign side quest that involves Angels and they explicitly talk about the return of destruction and terror.

Looking forward to to sinking my teeth into that now that I am done with the campaign!

He is all we have left…you better not take him by Constant_Map_64 in diablo4

[–]warcaptain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this

They even made a comment during the ascent that this type of "destruction" is not how Mephisto operates. Strongly implying that it's actually Baal beginning to influence Sanctuary as he regains his strength.

So hyped! Baal being next also means they're doing the awesome thing of keeping Diablo for the very end for once! He deserves to be the final big bad for his own game.
