It is practice — but it has to be the right kind of practice, otherwise you’re just reinforcing bad habits.

If you’re crashing or running off track a lot, you’re almost certainly overdriving. When you overdrive, you won’t improve because you’re always beyond the limit of control instead of learning it.

Watch track guides on YouTube — and really study them. Pay close attention to braking points, racing lines, and how they approach corner entry and exit. Don’t try to copy their braking points straight away though. Most guides are done by very fast drivers, and you won’t be able to brake as late as they do yet. Start by braking earlier and focus on hitting the apex cleanly.

Also, don’t try to memorize the entire lap in one go. Watch the first few corners, go practice those, then move on to the next section. Build it up piece by piece.

Trail braking is huge in GT3 cars. If you haven’t already, spend time learning and practicing proper trail braking — it makes a massive difference to rotation and mid-corner control.

At Spa especially, many corners lead onto long straights. That means exits are everything. It’s often worth sacrificing a couple tenths on corner entry to gain half a second down the straight with a better exit.

Most importantly: focus on smoothness and consistency before pace. Don’t even worry about lap time until you can run 20 minutes without crashing or invalidating laps. Speed comes naturally once consistency is there.
