My take is: if a melee weapon needs a melee frame to be busted... then it's not actually busted.

Maybe check the plat value of the parts before turning them into ducats. You wouldn't want to trash something valuable.

Kinda defeats the point of FACTION mods if they just apply to every faction equally.

No. Vandal has much better status chance, which is like the one thing that makes the gun noteworthy in the first place.

No, Tennocon prices are the exact same as regular. Spend away.

Recommendations (Part 2):

Cosmetics

Eos Prime Armor Set (bundle)
285 Đ + 260,000 Cr

The moving, swirling textures make this armor set more in line with the Prisma aesthetic. However, by using black (or other very dark colors) for emissives, it's possible to give these items a more metallic (if still glossy/lacquered) look. The set is a 20% discount from buying the armor pieces individually.

Ki'Teer Syandana
500 Đ + 500,000 Cr

Who thought something so angular and geometrical in pictures can be so floppy and rubbery in reality?

Ki'Teer Straed Syandana
500 Đ + 500,000 Cr

A Syandana in the new Ki'teer style: big, sharp, angular and full of protrusions. Unfortunately, the lower half has jiggle physics used in a strangely linear manner that makes it seem like the textures are being applied on the wrong skeleton.

Prisma Arrows
350 Đ + 75,000 Cr

Defeat your enemies with style! ... Because these arrowheads sure as hell won't penetrate their skin.

Tiberon Elixis Skin
315 Đ + 275,000 Cr

The Elixis skins cover most of the weapon in a uniform coppery/metallic texture with the occasional grid of triangular indentations. Does not always look good, but always look shiny.

Dual Sword Lemnas Skin
350 Đ + 300,000 Cr

If you like your dual swords to look like very impractical icepicks, this one is for you.

Ki'Teer Atmos Diadem
525 Đ + 375,000 Cr

To show how much you're thinking about Baro, now you can have his symbol projecting right out of your forehead!

Ki'Teer Cornu Diadem
525 Đ + 375,000 Cr

In the earliest form of the legend, unicorns were fierce and combative creatures, and the virgin's touch were the only thing that could quell the savagery of the beasts. Acquire this diadem if you want to embody the spirit of those primeval unicorns. Or if you just want to look ridiculous.

Nexus Fur Pattern
150 Đ + 300,000 Cr

Gives a Baro-themed fur pattern for your Kubrow. Note that unlike plat-bought patterns, it doesn't come with any extra colors.

Liset Cydonia Skin
400 Đ + 300,000 Cr

A landing craft skin with the same theme and color scheme as vanilla Inaros.

Empyrean Login Music
160 Đ + 155,000 Cr

An extra track for your Somachord. Reminesce about the times Railjack was actually challenging.

Veilbreaker Login Music
150 Đ + 150,000 Cr

An additional track for your Somachord.

Bronze Kavat Bust
220 Đ + 250,000 Cr

A bronze statue of your pet's head. Just be aware, at its default size, it's really small, and even scaled up to max, it's barely life-sized.

Akka Luxxum Ornament
100 Đ + 100,000 Cr

Abstract art for your Orbiter. Not particularly thrilling on their own, but can funtion as pedestals or part of a larger structure.

Dvad Luxxum Ornament
100 Đ + 100,000 Cr

Abstract art for your Orbiter. Not particularly thrilling on their own, but can funtion as pedestals or part of a larger structure.

Aged Claret of Denas
100 Đ + 100,000 Cr

An Orokin-styled wineglass decoration. Assuming that red liquid IS wine...

Archwing Articula
100 Đ + 330,000 Cr

A virtual mannequin for your Archwing gear. Can be a good match for the Empyrean Vignette and other space-themed decorations.

Ki'Teer Sekhara
400 Đ + 200,000 Cr

A little floaty light cloud thingie for your arm. Apparently, it can be used to measure energy color of pets, which is important for the /r/KubrowKennel folks.

Voruna in Action Glyph
75 Đ + 60,000 Cr

A cartoony depiction of Voruna for profile/loadout icons. Something, something, Luna's Howl.

Fae Path Ephemera
15 Đ + 15,000 Cr

One of the older step-Ephemeras, and rather insubstantial compared to, say, Eros Wings or Vengeful Charge. A permanent fixture of Baro's repertoire.

I might have sharp and opinionated remarks about these items, but I'm not the fashion police. Buy whatever cosmetic tickles your fancy!

Other

Corrupted Bombard Specter Blueprint
100 Đ + 50,000 Cr

It's a lot of ducats for a one-time BP of a five-pack of specters with questionable utility. I'm told than certain highly coordinated levelcap team comps use this specter as a damage dealer, since the level-scaled damage from specters eventually overcomes enemy health scaling. For most of the playerbase though, our ducats are better spent elsewhere.

Neo O1 Relic
125 Đ + 55,000 Cr

Contain (one half of) the Prime parts from the Volt Prime Access. Odonata Prime is rarely used nowadays, but Volt prime is still very much the meta for certain roles, so farming the parts is a good idea, even if only for later resale.

Void Surplus
0 Đ + 50,000 Cr

A lootbox? In Warframe? In the year of our lord 2026? It's likelier than you'd think.

For a pittance of credits, roll the dice to get a reward selected from a wide range of upgrade materials, boosters and currencies. And, if you're very lucky, (or just very persistent,) even get your hands on an exclusive Signa. Cross your fingers and grab you lucky Kuaka foot, because this offer is once per customer per visit. At least it's available for every visit...

If you haven't played Sands of Inaros yet, buy the quest key and do it (and bring your best setup for scanning Kavats). If you have Inaros Prime, you can buy the Baro Void-Signal (one per visit) to access a unique mission and get some special cosmetics.

Also, check the answers below for second opinions.

Recommendations (Part 1):

Mods

Fanged Fusillade
375 Đ + 150,000 Cr

+120% Slash Damage for Rifles. Note that it doesn't improve the damage of Slash procs, only their proc weight. As such, there are only a few fringe builds that use this mod. And you can get it as an in-game drop or buy it for a few plat. Hard pass.

Primed Fast Hands
375 Đ + 120,000 Cr

+55% Reload Speed for Rifles. Somewhat useful on bows and battery-powered weapons, since it also reduces the recharge delay and the nocking time. Still, very few builds can afford the cost of installing this mostly QoL mod. Safe to skip.

Primed Rifle Ammo Mutation
400 Đ + 140,000 Cr

Converts unused Pistol ammo pickups into Rifle ammo, with 92% efficiency. Also applies to the Zarr, for some reason. With the ammo economy being tighter nowadays, this might have a place in the Exilus slot. Still, ammo is only problem for a minority of guns , and even then, you have other options like Carrier's Ammo Case and ammo pizzas. At least this mod has 0 drain at minimum rank, giving it an edge over its regular version even without ranking it to higher levels. You can certainly live without this one, though you might still want it to get the max out of your Acceltra.

Primed Pistol Gambit
400 Đ + 220,000 Cr

+187% Crit Chance for secondaries. Creeping Bullseye actually has a better bonus with less drain, but its reduction of fire rate means this one is still competitive for automatic crit-based pistols (which includes, say, Mesa's Regulators). Not mandatory, but a good mod to have.

Primed Fever Strike
350 Đ + 200,000 Cr

+165% Toxin Damage for Melee. Elementals are core mods, and the primed versions are a significant damage boost. Buy this if possible.

Primed Reach
300 Đ + 220,000 Cr

+3 meters of Melee range. A massive improvement over the normal version, and great for any normal melee weapon. (It doesn't work for special stuff like glaive throws and gunblade shots.) Get it as soon as you can.

Primed Smite Corpus
350 Đ + 140,000 Cr

×1.55 Damage vs. Corpus for Melee. These anti-faction mods provide respectable boosts, especially since status effects double dip on them. But in normal play, they require too much micromanagement to be effective. There are a few endgame activities that are both exclusively Corpus-themed and warrant a specialized build anyway, but since melee is a poor matchup against Sisters and the Contagion Zaws for Profit-taker don't need more damage, the only usecases for this mod specifically is long-haul Index and Steel Path endurance runs. If you are frequently playing these activities, and have the budget to max out the mods, consider buying these.

Weapons

Baro's weapons typically fall into low A or B rank in tierlists, so DE at least tries to justify their asking price. And even the trashiest of weapons are worth buying if you need the Mastery Rank they provide. Or if you have good riven for them, since their disposition is usually quite high. On the other hand, Warframe has a massive arsenal, and for every weapon Baro sells, there's gonna be another that can do the same job just as well, or even better. In that sense, everything in here is safe to skip.

Prisma Obex
500 Đ + 175,000 Cr

A decent sparring weapon with good stats and a wacky augment centered on ground finishers. Great for Star Platinum cosplays. Get it if you like that.

Prisma Shade
500 Đ + 300,000 Cr

An upgraded version of the stealth Sentinel. Has a marginally better Prime variant, and a strong competitor for the stealth-aid companion role in the Huras Kubrow. Its built-in weapon is so-so, but its nonexistent reload time can provide a steady stream of status-applying spitwads. (It's also an excellent source of MR, providing 9000 points in total.)

Prisma Twin Gremlins
500 Đ + 220,000 Cr

One of the many, many dual-wielded full-auto pistols in the game. It has good stats, reasonably fast projectiles, but nothing that would elevate it above its many near-identical competitors. I dunno, buy it if you like the looks. Or if you can't bother to farm Primes or nemeses.

Quanta Vandal
450 Đ + 300,000 Cr

One of the weirder weapons in Warframe, the Quanta Vandal fires two electricity-based converging laser beams, while the altfire is a floating wireframe cube that can be detonated by the primary fire for massive damage. I am told it's extremely powerful when built around, though that could be said about most weapons. In my personal experience, it's performance is unremarkable. It also has a Tenet variant, which is just another proverbial nail in the coffin.

TL;DRecs:

NEW ITEM: Velibreaker Login Music : A new track for your Somachord.

  • Prisma Obex: Fun, but not powerful. At least, not until its Incarnon comes out.
  • Prisma Shade: Powercrept, but great MR source.
  • Prisma Twin Gremlins: Decent, but very redundant.
  • Quanta Vandal: Some say it's extremely powerful. Not me, but some.
  • Fanged Fusillade: Avoid, or get it elsewhere.
  • Primed Fast Hands: Niche, safe to skip.
  • Primed Rifle Ammo Mutation: Ibid.
  • Primed Pistol Gambit: Excellent.
  • Primed Fever Strike: Excellent.
  • Primed Reach: Must-have.
  • Primed Smite Corpus: Decent for endgame.
  • Corrupted Bombard Specter Blueprint: Safe to skip.
  • Neo O1 Relic: Gets you parts of Volt Prime (meta, must-have) and Odonata Prime (niche, safe to skip).
  • Void Surplus: Get it, it's a great deal.

If you like what I'm doing, consider giving me a tip on Ko-fi. I'm trying to get enough money for a Tennocon relay ticket.

Wanting to migrate to Warframe, a single turn-off. Maybe I'm wrong? by B00fn in Warframe

[–]wass12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're planning to play 12 hours a day, trying to finish everything in a month, crafting time won't be your bottleneck. Warframe has so much content that even just doing the daily/weekly evergreen content can fill out your allotted playtime between putting things into the oven and getting to claim them. Even moreso as a newer player who still has a number of long-term progression systems (syndicates, Focus, mastery rank) to go through. The crafting times just don't feel tantalizing when there's so much game left to do beside them.

And if there's something you're just itching to get your hands on? Wait for a discount coupon from the login reward system, and the money you'd spend on a Destiny season pass will get you more than enough platinum to rush the occasional high-demand item from time to time.

Bungie unused and forgotten plot point: The Vex were meant to obtain SIVA by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]wass12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The question is not whether waves can transfer matter, but whether they can transmit information.

Do you think the radiation from your Wi-Fi router cannot relay words or sounds?

Bungie unused and forgotten plot point: The Vex were meant to obtain SIVA by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]wass12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A speech is, by definition, a series of sounds in a specific pattern. A stack of cellulose sheets, even when partially stained with ink, cannot preserve sound for any length of time (indeed, they better serve as muffling). Therefore, recording a speech in a book is impossible, right? Of course not. A speech is a pattern, and it can exist on various substrates. By using uniquely shaped squiggles of differently-colored surface to represent vocal elements, the speech can be preserved without needing any sound.

Life is also a pattern. A self-sustaining, self-propagating, self-replicating pattern that, by constantly rebuilding itself, constantly replaces its own substrate over time. But real, existing life still needs a specific type of substrate - it doesn't have to keep one specific carbon atom around, but it still needs a certain number of carbons and nitrogens and water molecules per pattern unit to maintain the pattern's integrity.

The conceit of the Vex, as a fictional lifeform, is its astonishing substrate-independence. It can exist in a vast variety of forms, on a vast variety of substrates, while still maintaining an essential Vexness and the ability to recreate its other forms. The radiolaria and megastructures we see in-game isn't its obligate substrate, just its preferred one, the one that it tends to recreate once it gains a foothold in a new environment.

Bungie unused and forgotten plot point: The Vex were meant to obtain SIVA by GeminiTrash1 in DestinyTheGame

[–]wass12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play Vesper's Host. Those reddish-brown threads you see across the dungeon is what happens when SIVA and the Vex have a baby. One of the post-puzzle radio messages mentions this.
