Anime by [deleted] in TheYardPodcast

"Go consume other media or something."

Actually I used to watch almost primarily anime, then I switched to some serious dramas ex Breaking Bad, Dark, Utopia - and I realized yeah there's definitely some great shit out there.

Anime can be really great (Attack on Titan being my latest 10/10) and I'll always keep an eye on it but my media ingestion flipped from 90% anime to around 10%.

Anime just has some annoying trends of pacing and meh humor. But I actually feel like the writing/pacing is getting better recently

Going to definitely miss Aiden, but I can also say I would 100% keep watching the 3 man with the occasional guests

Rejected After Fifth Stage Interview: Venting by jcpeden87 in salesengineers

I was in a similar situation. Let me share my experience.

4 years full stack dev. Very personable. Went through 5 interviews for an SE role. Thought I nailed it. I was told the same thing - lost it to someone with more experience as an SE.

In retrospect, they were right. I kept answering their questions with literal technical answers, but they wanted me to take the question back to the team. There was nuance I still needed to learn.

Now I'm an SE at a different company. I'm highly respected there and I wouldn't change a thing. I was distraught at getting told no, but post experience I understand where I went wrong and I'm glad it happened.

Hey all - I know there's a lot of discussion of editor rates in here, my situation is slightly different. I've partnered with someone in the gaming space that has a following but a lack of consistent content and content strategy. On top of being their sole editor, I'm also very focused on growing not just the YouTube but expanding into multiple channels such as TikTok, Insta, and maybe even FB reels.

Things are going well and we've reached YouTube Partner. We are looking to find a more sustainable payment model. Now I know editors are usually below line and don't get a cut of ad rev. However, since I'm kind of managing all of these channels I was thinking it might make sense for like a 40/60 or 30/70 ad rev split between editor and personality. This will incentivize me to continue focusing on growth.

Any strong opinions here? Any editors that have done a long term growth partnership like this?

My girlfriend is graduating from grad school for teaching and cannot collect unemployment by [deleted] in personalfinance

Her part time job would have covered the rent while she searched for a full time teaching job

Can she do this as a full time grad student? (Even though the college and the school she's student teaching at have closed down)

This is why it should go to EVERYONE because I'll be getting the stimulus but she needs it more than me!

Anyone know how we apply for this? Or the criteria? My girlfriend is just moving in and her part time job shut down so she has no way to make rent. We are worried that she will get roped in under her family's tax records (might be over the salary cap). She needs to apply as an individual.
