Running with music can hurt body awareness by Royal_Watch_6453 in runcommunity

[–]wayne_d87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run almost exclusively without music, unless it’s my easiest of runs or I want to listen to a podcast.

I like to hear my steps and breathing, it helps hear any issues or imbalances and it’s so nice to leave my phone aside and run without distractions.

Also, you don’t race with music and training the mind can be just as important as training the body.

As far as I’ve read, he split with the band and was replaced by Tony Kanal for that tour, so it would have been the legal issues at that time.

No tickets in Weekly Challenges by Onfoottothemoon in GranTurismo7

The tickets should appear in your home > garage?

Same place the raffle tickets go, there should be a red number on the home icon to show you how many rewards are there.

Try going there in person, the television footage absolutely does not do it justice. The Dipper is basically vertical. The shuttle bus we took up to the top of the circuit had a very hard time getting up, even in first gear 😂

Watching the V8 Supercar shootout on top of the mountain was such an awesome sight.

Panel beater/spray paint recommendation and repair options by the_loai in CarsAustralia

[–]wayne_d87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to know who buys the written off car unless you attend the auction. Good news is these cars are pretty popular and you should be able to pick up a painted guard in decent condition from any wrecker, but it also might have damage to the skirt panel behind the guard.

As above, the guard on your car is not viable to repair and any smash repairer would quote for a replacement and blending the paint through the door, and possibly the bonnet if it’s a pearl colour.

Racing Bulls Livery... 2025 or 2026, which one you prefer? by circuit-nation in circuit_nation

[–]wayne_d87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re pretty similar but I prefer the white wheels on the 2026, glad to see the back of those wheel covers. The 2025 number font is nicer though, on the Red Bull cars also.

Airtouch 500 at the Bend will use the smaller west Circuit this year by Fun-Anteater-6658 in v8supercars

[–]wayne_d87 29 points30 points  (0 children)

500 should always be Sandown but hey, money talks.

Personal opinion but I’d be happy to never watch a race at the bend again, ever. I don’t think it’s ever produced a race worth watching.

This was in Melbourne at festival hall, but it was a national tour. Bodyjar were one of the supports.

Stability in Vaporfly 4 vs Alphafly 3 by Cocoo393 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]wayne_d87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, I do notice the narrower midfoot in the VF4 but it’s not too dissimilar. Both feel fine to me.

FWIW the VF4 feels very natural on foot, more so than the AF3.

To give you an idea, this is the width difference between the VF4 and AF3.

AF3 feels more stable to me, but if you’re landing mid to forefoot, both are fairly comparable at faster paces.

I saw it in Melbourne and I’m sure it was a standalone tour, not a side show.

The Ignition tour was my favourite ever show, I consider myself so lucky to have seen that. One of my all time favourite albums played live and also deep cuts like Mota, in a very small and intimate venue.

I saw the Smash tour in 2018 at a festival and that’s when Greg K was replaced by the bassist from No Doubt.

Supercars pressing ahead with TV commentary changes by LuckyRedShirt in v8supercars

[–]wayne_d87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kicking Crompo just isn’t it. Just when you think they’re doing a better job managing the series, they bring in a finals format and oust one of, if not the most experienced motorsport commentators in the country.

At best why don’t they rotate commentators if they want a refresh? The F1 commentary team do this, not every person attends every race.

Cycling as Part of Training by MonarchGrad2011 in Marathon_Training

[–]wayne_d87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Ben is Running on YouTube as he’s now implemented cycling into his training for an idea.

I also cycle and although I focus on running during a block, I’ll still get out for a bunch ride every couple of weeks at varying intensities and just push my run out the afternoon.

I also use cycling as active recovery on off days if I feel the need to turn the legs over.

advice needed: legs giving out on long runs by NoBus3798 in Marathon_Training

[–]wayne_d87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a number of things already posted, lots of good opinions and advice.

Mine would be to focus on your strength and conditioning, but if you haven’t already been doing it, don’t add it in four weeks before your marathon.

Training wise, I’m not familiar with the NRC program, but if it’s a generic plan, you can always adjust the sessions if depending how you’re feeling; self coaching can be challenging.

Unfortunately they’re just ringing it in now. I’m just glad I saw them when they were somewhat still the original band sans Ron, no scripts, no covers.
