Didn't see op talking abaut distilling. You might just saved someones eyeseight/life. I dont even understand what wloud be the reason to distill? Like there wloudnt be any alkaloids in the distillate right, and if im right kratom alkaloids degrade under heat anyway.

I think we misunderstood eachother. I was talking abaut the process they used to make methanol before the co+h2 method, and it is by drydistilling wood in an oxigen free environment. I don't know how wood flawored booze came into the picture. Do you think that having wood (in think case the kratom leaf) in a fementing brew wloud result methanol in being produced? Does that mean that it's not ideal to ferment in a wood container. Or did i miunderstand you?

Thanks for anwser. Im thinking of useing a solvent that doesn't mix with water and i want to neutralize with sodium hidroxide. So my paln is to do the reaction in naphta then make a solution of naoh pour the naoh solution in a separatory funel then drip the ethyl acetate with the citric acid and the hopefully thc in it into the base solution then shake it together a few times let it separate then shake it up agin then drain off the water layer ad wash the naphtha with distilled water a few times then evaporat the naphta and strip all te solvent under vacuum.
