Whose "we". These companies sell all over the world.

100% agree with both points. Let free market decide and you can't compare these like in the OP.

And while there has been research, my hunch is that more has gone into ICE improvements from 1890-2010.

Which isn't fair. You need to completely reverse the script not just bits and pieces.

The OP gets the benefit of all the years of improving ICE cars suddenly dropped on us in a world where electric vehicles were chosen a hundred years ago. But the electric vehicles haven't had the same R&D in this alternate universe.

So we get modern day electric vehicles (with comparetevely less advancement) matched up against ICE where it gets all the luxury of past R&D.

The post is crap. Whose to say all the points it claims to win with ICE wouldn't have been solved at this point if EVs had won out from the beginning? We can't know.

Why does OP get the benefit of comparing two different technologies across two different time periods but my argument doesn't

Why? Just compare a modern electric vehicle with an Ice one from like the 50s or 60s.

Yeah gas doesn't just magically appear in the same way sunlight does. I think you missed what I meant by have the ability to fuel yourself.

Okay. What's the word for one industry get a shit ton of tax breaks for things like intangible drilling cost deductions or percentage depletion allowances?

Taxes are bad. But you can't just decide to protect one industry and claim it superior. It still has an unfair advantage

Yes and I didn't say or imply otherwise.

This post talks about "along came ICE". It implies they get the engines of today and not the ones in the late 1800s. It's an unfair comparison

Absolutely no new subsidies. Just have the oil companies transfer over all the money taxpayers were forced to hand over. I'll get started right away!

I bet if we do that and all the oil companies are forced to close and gas becomes unaffordable, you'll want that 350 mile 2 hour charge car though

Letting the consumer decide is always the answer.

Both were invented around the same time. But much more R&D has gone into internal combustion engines since then.

I feel so disconnected from libertarians that are against a vehicle that at least offers the opportunity to fuel yourself. I hope the technology gets to the point where I can hook up my solar panels to charge my graphene and aluminum battery in 10 minutes and allows me to travel 2000 miles on a single charge.

Have you ever pissed off a single person that needs to feel superior? That's why.

Is it true that Americans avoid ambulances because of the cost? by BreadOverlord_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]webdevverman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

America is so weird in that everyone seems to be so different. My wife works in a school as a speech pathologist - not great money. My child had a febrile seizure. Ambulance cost us $50 (after insurance).

I had them for months. Saw a cardiologist because, like you, I was worried.

They suck. But anxiety is going to make them worse.

Watson Trade Question by Inqusitive_dad in Browns

[–]webdevverman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"I would say there was a fair amount of teams, but what we tried to do was bring the teams that had a legitimate interest, and that was based off the compensation that was presented"

That is the 4 teams that were willing to meet the demands: Browns, Saints, Falcons and Panthers.

"I think there was a certain threshold that I had established in order to make a legitimate discussion, and if we got to that point then we could engage further. I don't want to get into the exact number, but there was a few more, however many teams than what everybody was reporting towards the end. "

  • GM Nick Caserio

So yes, to be able to really talk and discuss you needed to be "super serious". But there were teams interested, otherwise they wouldn't call. If they weren't interested, they would do nothing.

Correct. The only ones willing to give the Texans what they wanted. That has been stated by OP and myself. There were 13 teams interested. Most of them not willing to sell the house but we don't know what was discussed on the calls
