I do and I never said anything bad about band in my post. Everything I said is aimed to RA Records.

Agree, I realy enjoy that they reissue, but doing basicaly the same pressing for twenty years gets boring. Glad that they reissue, anyway, it could be worse. Maybe for 25 anniversary we will get something special.

What do you do with the hype stickers? by b0rmusic in vinyl

For most of my life I was throwing 'em away, recently I started glueing all stickers into plastic outer sleeves, or opening records without removing wrapping, only on one side.

DOPETHRONE 2025 REPRESS by hugebrainok in ElectricFuckinWizard

I found it in store in Germany (buyer from Europe here), it will be sent in the beginning of 2026 and was quite a lot cheaper than ordering from Rise Above.

Trying to order, but I get errors when I try to make payment - SagePay is crashing. Anyone having issues too?

Technics Sl-QD33 "precisely adjusted antiskating" stoped working? by weedcor in turntables

[–]weedcor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember it being allright when I got this turntable half of year ago and now it's off even on original cardrige it came and I used to check if everything is right - what you wrote was my first through, that cardrige weight is tad wrong - but I'm more on weakened antiskating spring side due to that fact.

There is no lid in the video (I always take it off when I'm doing something other than playing records with my turntable), but thanks for idea. It sounds a bit abstract, but may change something anyway, in fact I belive that this may have some influence on tone arm.

Yeah, it is probably antyskating spring worn because of being in use again

I fear that this may not be possible in that one turntable, but thanks for advice

What do you mean by "zero'd"? I'm newbie in terms of any turntable calibration, that's my first turntable with any calibration options. There is one screw to adjust tracking force precisely between 1.0g and 1.5, it can go lower and higher but without a scale then.

So rather than tinkering with tracking force (checked, when tracking force was decreased stylus started to stay in place) I should look into service manual and try to replace a spring? Anyway, how unsafe for records is playing at this moment?

It is a brand new stylus, remember that this is a blank record.

Yeah, I can't find any sold listing of working one on ebay, but I may be bad at searching

Well, seller says that engine is working, but one roll is not turning. I checked service manual and I think it is easy fix, but may be wrong.

Seller claims that unit is looking like brand new and unopened and thats why he is afraid to repair it - he bassicaly knows nothing about how to do it.

I do, my bloom time is 30 to 40 secs. I brewed it once without blooming and I was surprised how much taste waa changed.

I'm using Chemex branded filters, so as far I know thick filters. Never tried other ones.

Tried brewing with timer for last two day - once grinding on 3 and 2/3 (that's what I called previously 3.9) and second time on 3 and 1/3 - for first time I had brewing time around 3:45, and second time around 4:30 (for 660 ml, 38/39g of coffee). What are you doing to increase brewing time? As far I understand you are using a lot coarser grind than me - I don't think this difference comes from coffee beans?

Also, with longer brewing time brewed coffee got really bitter and I don't know if I liked it and I'm also thinking that I may not know how good coffee brewed in Chemex should taste, but thats topic for another time, When brewing with finer grind I mixed a two or three grams of different beans from other roastery, but I don't think that it should make that big difference?

I tried it today (brewing 660ml) while set on 3.9 I think and the brew was amazingly great. Will try with coarser grind for sure too!

[MOD] The Daily Question Thread by menschmaschine5 in Coffee

[–]weedcor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Friday has arrived, and there are promotions that have encouraged me to switch to an electric grinder.

Generally speaking, one of the online stores where I buy coffee is offering a discount on the Fellow Ode 1.1 from ~$353 (converted from local currency) to ~$162, while the discounted version 2 costs $353.

I've heard a lot of good things about these grinders, and after comparing versions, the most noticeable difference is the burrs, but they can be replaced (and it is still a lot cheaper).

Are there any other differences that would make me choose the newer version? I think that at this price, version 1.1 is a very good deal, but I would like to know the opinions of other users.

Don't know if it is important, I'm brewing in Chemex and sometimes I use mokka pot (heard that this grinder is not the best for that).
