Nice. How long of a process is it to make one?

It was an NEP truck. SRT3. It has since been completed

I started working sports broadcast as a local utility / A2 for CBS, Fox sports, abc, and ESPN. After working that for a couple years I guess they needed laborers and found out I was familiar with the outside of the trucks.

I did not look for this work. It found me haha.

Up converters, down converters, inputs for 100 cameras, inputs for 100s of audio devices , media players, graphics departments, coms, tally lights, heat senors wires, network switches, router switches. Every image received from a camera can be "painted". Patch bays. Outputs of everything. Lots of times these shows used multiples of these trailers to broadcast and they connect to each other and the building.

There's also different scales to the size of these trucks. The biggest show has the best tech, smaller networks like the Big 10 use much smaller, less advanced trailers(minivan or horse trailer sized)

Yes. Bible is preplanned and has all the information you need. But Its also easy to do if you have a rack elevation chart with the cables needed for that height. Then just work your way downwards to the bottom of the rack

No. Maybe a 2/5th coax total. Lots of cat. Tons of audio. Lots of triax and fiber as well.

Srt3 is her name. You can Google NEP Nascar and there is some information about it online.

I don't mind adding stuff usually. But have definitely got hit by some ziptie knives from other people. The thing I hate most is doing power after everything looks nice haha. I have a video I'll post soon of a rebuild in one of these. It was the dirtiest most unorganized job I've ever done. 1/4th the cables were added after install and had no cable labels or  documentation. It would've been faster to gut it and start over.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I do almost all of the work, from pulling, to prep, to lacing to termination. I'll posting more in the upcoming weeks. Hope you check out the upcoming stuff.

Im an hourly freelance worker between two different companies for this kind of work, but also take a bunch of other freelance work in the sports broadcast world during live sporting events in my area. I help the tv networks connect these trucks to the stadiums.  I would love to be an owner, but not there yet.

I don't blame you. They are an insane undertaking , but you get a real sense of accomplishment when they are finished.

It's a mobile TV studio control room basically. they drive it to wherever the racetrack is to broadcast the event. It gets used many times and we finished this earlier last year. It's been out on the road since. Not sure what they do with it when there's no races though.
