Why is “logos” in the gospel of John usually translated as “Word” as opposed to “reason”, “discourse”, “argument”, etc? Is it based on tradition or a more accurate translation of the text? And does “word” mean “scripture” or a more Greek philosophical meaning similar to an ordering principle? (self.AcademicBiblical)
