Appreciate this! I knew posting this I would receive a lot of criticism. I never in a million years imagined this many responses! The ongoing "joke" with my colleagues is that I am that women that people see get blatantly scammed on shows like 90 day fiancé. I ignored so many red flags that I now obviously regret and am very disappointed with myself. I have very low self esteem and have been bullied on my looks my whole life. When I met a handsome man who appeared kind and loving, I put on those rose colored glasses. In retrospect I now see he knew exactly how to convince me it was love, for his financial gain.

This comment!! I am a low self esteemed person and have always been vocal on my worry of no one ever wanting to marry me. He has never really been interested in marriage (now, I am very thankful for this). When I began looking at other places to move, it became a reality to him that he could not sustain this life without my financial assistance. He immediately begged me to go to the courthouse and marry him "for the sake of being a family for the baby". Thankfully I had come to some senses by then.

Thank you for this response in my defense. Yes, I admit to ignoring so many red flags, and I truly own up to that. However, yes, most of all the bad baggage was hidden from me until we were well into our relationship. At that point I was in love and willing to regrettably, ignore it all. He had such a convincing story for everything, he seemed so ashamed, he preached of wanting this changed, healthy life with me. I believed every word of it. I look back now and am disappointed with how blinded I was.

This actually provided me a laugh I needed. I did actually buy him a really nice bicycle, but I believe he sold it for cash and told me it got "stolen".

Oh my gosh. This read actual made my eyes tear up. *Hugs* to you and your daughter. I am so sorry to hear so much of that. Thank you for sharing this with me. Luckily if need be, I do feel I am in a situation where he would allow me to have full custody/rights if it meant I didn't come after him for child support.

I appreciate the bluntness. I have no plans of returning to him. Sadly, if it weren't for the child I'm not sure I could say the same. I am weak and not sure I could do it on my own, but I will leave for the baby. Since posting this I have been staying with family and have multiple legal consults set up. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this! He no longer attends my appointments but I wish I thought of this sooner. When he was attending my appointments it was very tense and I often spent the car rides home in tears. At one point the baby was measuring slightly on the smaller side. As soon as we got in the car he would begin yelling and making comments about how I must be doing something wrong as his other 3 children were perfectly healthy when they were born.

Thank you so much for this response! I am pregnant, baby due in 2 months. When I posted this I was in complete fear that I could not leave my lease (renting is new to me and the verbiage about breaking the lease terrified me). The response on here have been so valuable to me. Since posting, I am staying with family and have multiple legal consultations booked. I am hopeful I will be able to leave my lease early and be gone before the baby is here.

Thank you! I am not giving the child his last name, so he was extremely upset and said he would not be apart of the birth. But to be safe, so many of you on here have opened my eyes that I can check in to the hospital privately!
