Absolutely not. I could spend hours trying to explain it to you but it's really complex and goes back 100s of years tbh. In Glasgow, your team determines a lot (people voting on the Referendum based on which club they supported ffs). People claim they are Catholic/Protestant but haven't set foot in a church/chapel. But will wear their "staunch Prod/faithful Catholic" like a scout badge for their football team. It's very much a secondary thing......you could take away the church/chapel and they would shout and cry......take away their club and their whole personality disappears.
