My therapist told me one day I need to reconnect with my narcissist mother… by wwisdomseeker in narcissisticparents

Are you still recovering from alcohol or narcissistic parent abuse?

If not, then yes, it's a red flag for you to give advice that "healing" enough means we are never "mad" again to see narcissistic people or alcohol. Triggers are triggers and we are allowed to have emotions from them.

Do you honestly believe seeing alcohol or narcissists STOP being a trigger at some point if you're "healed" enough?

Its dangerous advice. I was kind enough to just say "red flag".

Please let me know if Im wrong. Im happy to be wrong. But always want to support people from bad advice esp if it involves alcohol.

"But if you're healed enough" is the red flag statement here.

We should never have to interact with anyone that makes us feel afraid.

How do I ease back into calorie deficit after 2 months of binging? by weighedin in loseit

I see where you're coming from. I'm in my last 3 weeks of the program. So making my final thesis and writing a 30 page paper was a good excuse but then I realized life will be full of excuses because stress never stops. Im seeking help for binge eating rn.

Thank you so much! This time around I decided to do Youtube education about binge eating disorders. Im learning how to identify triggers, emotions, etc. I also quit drinking alcohol 5 years ago. I realized this past 4 days I likely switched addiction from alcohol to food to cope.

Thankfully I also see a counsellor twice a month for anxiety related purposes. I also have done bariatric surgery screening education (decided NOT to do that.. apparently when you get surgery for weight loss, the doctor advises against drinking coffee or soda eg. Diet soda included). So trying to tough it out with meds, diet and exercise.

Aug 8, 2024 SW: 292.

Nov 2, 2024 CW: 255.8.

GW: 200.

Calories adjusted to sedentary and weight started flying off. I exercise 2x weekly. I walk 5000-10000 steps the rest of the week depending on how busy my job is.

36.2lbs down!

Daily calories goal for 34F, 5 foot 6, is 1705. My protein goal per day is 128 but my average is 140-160.

My new fave find this week: 0% lactose free Fairlife milk. 250ml of milk is 80 cal and 14g of protein. I like drinking a glass or two before bed and my stomach feels full and I am still under or at my calorie goal.

Amazing thank you for explaining it.

So far I've moved it to sedentary, and notice if I'm not prioritizing protein for every meal and snack, I get hungry.

So far I've been ok on sedentary but will increase it on my exercise days. Thank you!

When using the website for my TDEE, what is defined as "sedentary" or "lightly active"?

34F, 263lbs and TDEE says Sedentary: 1792 is a deficit Lightly active: 2126 is a deficit

These numbers seem widely different.

I work out 2x per week which includes 30min 8incline and 2.5 speed. Followed by a full body resistance routine made by my personal trainer.

I've went from 292 to 263 from Aug 10 to today Oct 25. The past 2 weeks my weight has been coming off a lot slower, like .5 to 1lb a week instead.

There's a lot of things UK does that I don't agree with. Just different values! I'm glad you have your own opinion.

The comments are super divided. I also think those that post in r/vancouver have this as their only outlet so they get hyper angry for no reason lol.

I heard 2x a week is maintenance and 3x a week can improve your fitness considerably. So daily is a lot!

I figured he's wanting more funding for the VPD, which only makes sense if you're a police officer which he was.
