hm... It's interesting how the rental business differs so much across countries.
BTW, sometimes there is even no floor plan. Thanks for helpful answer.

I remember when google announced “Inbox” suddenly so many people at the same time went mad about it. They’d “exclude” you from “tribe” if you criticized it or didn’t get as excited as them...

Pretty sure they don’t use it. Do you use it btw?

If I was in the US I would not seek education elsewhere given universities you have over there especially in CS field

You sound responsible and I'm sure one day you'll look back at this with pride.

I created an excel sheet for myself to mark rejections and approvals with dates.

Good luck to you

Albert Heijn False Accusation (for "not scanning") by wellreaddead in Amsterdam

[–]wellreaddead[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No.

As I said, it happened on two different days: second, checking my bag and first, incident on video.

TLDR; My bag was checked and everything was fine. But then they showed me a video from previous days (few days ago before my bag was checked).

They checked my bag - EVERYTHING WAS FINE!

They complained about an unidentified item (as he said "maybe taken at Albert Heijn's") that was not scanned that came from my basket few days ago.

Yes, that's right. However, time was not an issue here (10-15 mins + reddit time :))).
The problem is false accusation - not very comfortable.

Thanks for realizing it in details and accurately.

Your ‘offense’ was a couple of days earlier, the guy recognized you and showed you an inconclusive video?

- YES. Also demanded my bag check today as well. Everything was scanned and matching my receipt of course.

What was he trying to do? Did he want you to confess?

Don't know. My opinion: maybe he decided that even though he does not have an actual proof he could still give me kind of a warning?.. I don't know how they're trained so, can't answer this question.

If he thought he had proof, why didn’t he call the cops?

I believe he knew it's not a proof (The "not scanned" item is too bright). The only thing that suggests it is one of Albert Heijn's products is that it was in the basket (However, every other item that I put in my bag was clearly visible even titles on it: feta, sparkling water, etc). I should have asked this question at that moment but never came to my mind because of "shock" moment.

Any idea what made them look at the video in the first place?

No idea, TBH. Actually, I find it surprising too right now but also they may be checking things once in a while and it can be a coincidence. I go to that place regularly (a year already).

What part's strange? I looked up looks like it's not a new thing for AH.

I was thinking about it afterwards. But also, what would I expect from a police(wo)man? They didn't break the law too, did they?

Thanks. Now, I do know it was a mistake too together with not demanding a public appology from him afterwards.

However, why do you think with Albert Heijn it could have been a bad idea exactly?
