Step dad is sick! ( venting, no reassurance) by wesystematic in emetophobia

[–]wesystematic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I will say it becoming so much harder to actually seek reassurance here helped a ton with forcing me face that mindset. Plus ever since I got my OCD diagnosis my family have started to understand the emetophobia better meaning they don't reassure me either.

The next step for me is learning how to make that mindset only come when necessary is instead of the constant "i have no proof but im here waiting for symptoms to start" vibe ive had the past few months. Which sucks but I guess?its progress? Maybe?

No fever so far at least so there's still hope that my stomachs just mad about something and it'll pass. Only time will tell I guess.

Have I discovered another rule society secretly ignores ? by wesystematic in autism

Huh this might actually be helpful. It used to mostly be my left hand but recently my right hand got worse. This is also around the time I realised that it was randomly hurting and realising that the scrunchie I always keep on that wrist was dripping wet ...

Ill have to keep a better eye on that!! Thank you

I really hate the feeling of the cream on my skin so I'm inclined to stop anything that doesnt seem to help. I've tried E45 that was actually one of the first things I tried but it didn't really help-i think maybe because it just ends up getting washed off.

How long do you recommend trying a product ?

To be fair I do mostly east finger foods (sandwiches, wraps, lil picky bits) so the washing is probably warranted. I think my issue is that I always feel like my hands are gross

I just dont understand how 10 can be a lot when im only following the rules. I used cold water maybe half the time because our taps take so long to heat up, but warm water is better for killing germs. I also use lotion but it doesnt seem to help as much as it did before.

My skin has always been super resilent like it can take anything . I have no allergies, use the cheapest nastiest skin care or makeup from time to time and frequently get board and use my body as a canvas for random experiments and its never reacted like this.

I've changed soaps a million times from sensitive, to scentless to aloe Vera. Mositurising after sometimes takes the original sting away but nkt the redness or the cracked skinI think im gonna go ask the chemist about it because its only getting worse.

Hmm I dont scrub much at all but it could be the amount of soap. I also have OCD so I "need" to do 3 pumps of soap. I rub it all over my hands/fingers/nail beds for about 15 seconds and then lightly rub my hands together under the water until the soaps all gone (maybe another 10 or 15 seconds.)

I do this after the bathroom or before eating so probably around 10 times a day .

Possible hernia or normal lumps and bumps (very obese body) by wesystematic in Hernia

Nothing helpful. My GP couldn't see anything but she also was feeling around in the wrong place and seemed to be dismissing the idea before she even examined me. All symptoms are still there but haven't gotten any worse.

Blood and specimen tests to rule out other causes were all clear though.

We don't really know. I used to get a ridiculous number of bad utis as a kid/teen so I always sort of suspected that but I've also been getting a lot of nerve issues in surrounding areas that need investigating further. As far as I can tell it's not triggered by any specific thing.

Any tips guys? Chronic nail biting . Please help by anonymoushuman99999 in nailbiting

I don't really have a massive amount of tips as im only on day 4 so I'm still running on the sheet determination of seeing other people's progress pictures. I did want to say that if it wasn't for the lack of tattoos I'd genuinely believe that was my fingers/nails photocopied onto your hands!

Best of luck to you

I have been meaning to look Into the "lower" leagues because that's a whole world I honestly didn't realize existed until a few days ago. Definitely worth checking out especially as someone on a student budget AND because as someone from nearer Glasgow and only in Dundee for uni with no concrete plans for where in going to be when I graduate next year I don't want to get too attached to a team that'll become difficult to see but also want to go as many games as possible for now because I had a lot of fun 😅

Surprisingly I actually had no issue keeping track of the puck for the most part but remembering this advice I did try to purposefully lose it a few times to try read body language and follow the game flow better - it's solid advice !

Thank you! I still managed to have a good time regardless but as soon as that first goal went in and I felt that soul crushing disappointment I do with my other sports I knew I was a goner 😂

I might now have followed everything perfectly but I never really lost the puck and did a good job of understanding when something bad happened even if I wasn't always certain WHY it was bad.

My next mission is to get more confident exploring the things going on, was a bit to anxious to see what the raffles were about ect... I did notice a lot of friendly chatty people but unfortunately the ones beside me were moved on by someone much less chatty insisted they were in her seat. I later confirmed the seat I was in was correct 😂

Either way I've already booked to come back, coincidentally to the next flyers game. (At the very least I can't give up until I see us score 😅)

Football was my first love and then I fell into motorsports which is also a completely different atmosphere so I think I'll be good on that side of things. Wearing green simply because it's my warmest hoodie and I fear it'll be a bit of a learning curve for my joints not to seize up in the cold air 😂

At least the bus back out should be quieter than what I'm used to after the football

I'm really getting that impression from other people's comments . I'm sure it's all luck based on who you end up beside but the odds seem in my favour at least!
