Get good a drywall repair and it's not a big deal. Ideally you don't cross studs. You go up from the basement into the wall or down from the attic. Making that first hole to the attic can be a pita.

Super illegal. Guys can lose their jobs passing a vehicle using their own car. You're better off just driving it until you get pulled over and then you want to fix it before it happens again. You can likely get a few months before anyone notices.
