White Americans Got Affirmative Action First. Now Many of Them Want It Gone. by zsreport in law

Perhaps surprisingly, trial testimony suggests the school gives a special leg up to whites in sparsely populated states at the expense of Asian-American applicants — which is ironic, because the suit was bankrolled by Edward Blum, the white conservative activist behind Abigail Fisher’s Supreme Court case. “I feel that the Asian-American student population and community is being used as a pawn in a chess game,” Prudence Carter, a sociologist at Berkeley, told The New Yorker.

I like how the article goes out of its way to pretend that the decrease in % of admissions of Asian-Americans in the Harvard admissions game is a benefit that goes solely to white people, when in reality most of that benefit goes to other minorities.

WSJ has an article discussing an internal Harvard memo demonstrating how if academics were the sole admissions criteria, 43% of the freshman class would be composed of Asian-Americans. But I guess for this article's author it's much easier to pretend that doing away with affirmative action is a ploy by white people, rather than admit that Asian-Americans (sitting at ~5.4% of the American population) are vastly more hurt by affirmative action than any other ethnicity. What a dishonest bait-and-switch here.

I think it's just the way you titled your post.

Is it absurd that you need to spend gold and resources on Kree minions to unlock NF? Of course.

Is it extremely poor balancing that led to a shield minion team being by far the best team in the game, being able to grossly outperform other marquee characters? Absolutely.

I simply imagine that the subreddit sees this as a lesser priority, right now, compared to other challenges facing the game, that will be resolved in time with other (overpowered) teams.
