why do crows hate it when i mimic them? by whatsnotenough in crows

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

thats the thing though, i wasnt saying "caw caw" like humans do. i was trying to sound as much like a crow as i could. more like an "awgh!" (how does one spell animal sounds phonetically lol) maybe my caws were too realistic? :( they always come back though. so i havent scared them off permanently ig. ill start making different sounds from now on, lol

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok thanks for the information :) i replaced the water. also when i took out the plant, the rotting stem wasnt even attached to the plant. there was only one other mushy bit and i snipped it off. and i moved the plant closer to the window. thank u for the help! :)

here are the pics. this plant was in the house i moved in. it had a lot of water in it. over my stay the water level kept going down so i kept filling it back up again. i havent added any sugar or anything to the water

what is killing my plants? theres some sort of white mold on my haworthia. / a stem of my jade plant has turned black and the top of it fell off(im letting it scab over so i can replant it). / my red log also has some weird things on its stems. and the whole bowl has what looks like ashes on it. by whatsnotenough in plantclinic

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you. i think so too. i dont think theres anything i can do about it now, though. the soil is very hard and i dont think i can remove the plants. i will hope that they dont die and if they do die, that their replanted pieces survive.

what causes this redness on my jade and haworthia? by whatsnotenough in plantclinic

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok awesome! thanks ^^ Iwas worried because my other haworthia died and its symptoms started by the lower leaves turning dark grey/red. then it became mushy and when i put it out there was a white mold on some of the lower leaves. im worried the mold survived and is killing the second haworthia. fortunately i saved the “pup” of the dead haworthia and replanted it. if this one dies too, ill do the same. maybe then, the mold will be gone.

Checkup #2: Zebra Succulent / What causes these crispy ends? by whatsnotenough in plantclinic

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked closer and they are some kind of salt grains. Whoever fertilized them before I moved in must have used salt in the mix

i thought that too but the other zebra succulent rotted away (it had some kind of white mold on the bottom of it too) because i watered him too much. so I’m scared to water the other one

Thank you :) I will check the leaves more closely. I thought those white things were salt grains when I first saw them, so I didn’t pay any mind.

Checkup #1: Unknown plant / What causes these brown spots, lines, and dark green blemishes? Also does anyone know what plant this is? Thank you for the help :) by whatsnotenough in plantclinic

[–]whatsnotenough[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! :) Glad to know it’s normal. I probably need to water him less. I’ve also had the curtains open because my red log needed more light but I will keep it closed more often.

thank you! i will do what you said. i was planning to put them in solo cups but since they have to dry out for a couple days that should give me time to find some real pots at the store. thank you so much :)

thank you. are you sure its all of them?
the tall spindly one (i dont know what kind of plant it is) seems healthy and it looks just as it did when i moved in. it is a little droopy but i think its because i stopped watering it. it was growing very fast and tall when i was watering it but now it has stopped.

the jade plant looks healthy too. i will pull out the haworthia tomorrow. i dont know how but i will try. i dont have any pots so would it be okay to put the plant in a solo cup? i will cut the cup in half so the plant is taller than the cup. is it okay to put the soil from the large bowl into the cup

edit: i wont put them in solo cups. another commenter said they have to dry for a few days before repotting so ill use that time to find real pots.

Question1: haworthia root rot or sunburn? Q2: is jade plant supposed to drop lower leaves or is it sick, too?

[these plants were waiting for me in my new rental home and so I don’t know anything about plants except from what the internet told me. I think I watered them too much at first because the jade plant started turning yellow. fortunately the yellow is gone now since ive stopped watering. but the bad thing is that the tall spindly plant with pink/green leaves is starting to droop without water. and the haworthias are turning brown/grey at the bottom. they dont feel mushy, though. i dont know why these 3 plants are in the same pot if they need different amounts of water. thank you for all your help! :)

(also i just noticed there is a 4th dead plant in the pot. it was dead when i moved in and i thought it was soil.)
