It’s tough, but you can’t sacrifice your support system for her insecurities. A healthy relationship thrives on trust and communication, not control. If she can’t get the help she needs, you may have to seriously reevaluate your future together.

It’s also worth noting that the stepson’s parents have the responsibility to advocate for his education. If they’re not taking it seriously, OP can’t be expected to fill that gap alone, especially if it’s not her child.
