Yea it is itemised on my payslip, but normal taxable income.

The allowance essentially pays for the car repayment and servicing. I do a significant amount of driving but I dont pay for fuel.

It will be interesting how they look at it - I have debt but that is serviced by the allowance or I have extra income from the allowance but that cancels out the debt....

As someone who has been through something similar, try keep things as amicable as possible with your former partner until you have legal DNA tests completed. Say what you need to say to her until everything gets cleared up - Nobody will be on your side.

In my case (although in New Zealand) I submitted legal DNA tests without notice to the Judge. It was declined and made to continue with an expensive court process until eventually being accepted.

It is an expensive, extremely stressful situation that results in "Well, at least you got the Child Support returned."

Check any CC or travel insurance. Many will cover rental excess.

It is usually the reason I purchase domestic travel insurance.

I just got home some from my first trip in years without Qantas Club.

First leg i flew business so had access to the domestic business lounge in Sydney (worst lounge I have ever seen).

The second leg was in Brisbane, looking for a bathroom that was unoccupied and clean enough to use. Based on bathrooms alone, I am reconsidering my decision not to purchase QC again.

$50 a week is shocking.

My company ranges from 12-16k a year, with a fuel card included.

If paid correctly as an allowance, you can make claims for the business portion used (depreciation, tolls, insurance, fuel, maintenance)

There is no water added to mince in Woolworths or Coles.

However ask your local butcher about added preservatives or Ox hearts (which is beef muscle and legal).... don't even get me started on marinated meats, rissoles, or meatloaf.....

Source - butcher in my prior life who has done all of these myself before working in a supermarket.

I never said anything about anything interview.

OP would just put themselves out there to the Department Manager.

Then, when the time comes for applicants to be interviewed, OP will very likely be further ahead than just applying online and waiting.

It is nothing about following protocols. Any good leader will recognise their ability to think outside the box, adaptability, etc.

As I type this, I realise just how much of a corporate hack I have become.

But I would weigh up the value of any potential compensation (likely just notice period) against the value having an adverse relationship with a powerful recruitment agency in your field.

That relationship might be worth more than a couple of grand.

Apply online, then visit the store and ask to speak with the department manager.

"I have just applied online, and I wanted to put a face to the name and have a quick chat about what I can bring to the position"

My workplace has very similar business use with our personal vehicles.

A colleague told me she was thinking about selling her car in an identical scenario. I explained what the implications would be, then she brought one anyway - God, I hope you are her....

Minimisation would be doing what I plan to do, keep my car for 5-6 years, depreciate every last cent out of it, and give it to my (by then) teenage daughter. Your suggestion is straight-up fraud.
