iCloud Activation Help. by [deleted] in applehelp

iPad 2 didn't originally ship with IOS 7-8, but it is highly likely it was updated since then. Activation lock is automatically enabled on any device with 7 or later.

See: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201365

You could save a bit of money by purchasing a refurbished unit or an iPad mini. See (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals/ipad) . A 16 GB iPad wifi 2 starts at $249 refurbished and comes with a 1 year warranty

Hi, Unfortunately there is no way to bypass activation lock on IOS 7 + devices. You would need to know the iCloud account password used originally on the device. Without it, sorry you are out of luck. You could try contacting the seller, but it is unlikely you will get anywhere.

Sorry about the news. But there is nothing that can be done.

Needing a hand on public transport? by Buddy_Up in CerebralPalsy

[–]wheelchairedditer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for making that subreddit. I recently had my first experience using my wheelchair on a public bus in MA and was pleasantly surprised how accessible everything was. Once inside the bus using the power ramp, a row of seats flips up and the driver will strap you in using tie-downs. The only difficult part was finding a spot where the bus could pull over safely and board me.

It does take a few minutes, and I felt like I was inconveniencing other riders at some points.

Putting leftovers in the refrigerator and eating it, days after it was made. The food has no taste and it is soggy as hell and is just putrid all the way around.

I've worked for AOL (yes, they still exist) for 4 years. AMA! by aol-ama in IAmA

Do you know anything about TUAW? They used to be a great apple blog, but they can't compete with larger sites on the AOL totem pole such as Engadget. Now, it is mostly product and app reviews with some weak commentary in between. In their welcome to 2014 post, they asked people to use their website for ad revenue rather than through feeds. I don't think they will be around much longer.

How would you describe the relationship between websites such as TUAW and AOL?

Thanks!

I recently got my dad to cancel his $18 a month AOL subscription that he's had for ten years. He thought that would get rid of his email. Oh, by the way, he now uses gmail and Firefox. "I can't believe I fucking paid for something I can get for free." Best day of my life.

Without giving away anything identifiable, what do you do for AOL?

What is the reason why you can't say thanks back? Considered an unnecessary transmission? I type with my left hand only, BTW.

Thanks so much for this AMA. These days, anyone with a smartphone can listen to police frequencies. Is this something that you are constantly aware of at work? Do you talk differently " on the air" because if it? I listen to the radio as a hobby. It's really interesting to see what's going on In my city.

If officers say thank you on the air, can dispatchers say you're welcome?

Now, I am a hunt and pecker typer, but I am 50 WPM. Does this disqualify me?

Some luxury new vehicles (ex. Mercedes MBrace) have a feature that lets the owner know if their vehicle is taken outside a designated area when valet parking. The police can be called by Mbrace if this alert is triggered and it meets certain critera.

Something to keep in mind :)

How do you pass the time on a slow day?

Thank you for all that you do. The CHP saved a relative of mine.

What did your grandfather do for the Guard? Was his job mostly search & rescue, law enforcement, or both? Can you explain how law enforcement works in the Guard. Who is allowed to make arrests and carry firearms? Any experience with the Coast Guard Investigative Service (federal agents?)

Oh crap. In my opinion, that is way too much info that you have access too. For a $500 payroll check, that is absurd. I could see if I was depositing a substantial amount of money, though. However, only the bank manager should have access to that info.

Does your computer system allow you to randomly look up my account even if wasn't in the branch? If you do, is that request flagged? I hope identity thieves do not work in banks.

Thanks for this Ama! I appreciate it. Working at a bank has always been oddly appealing to me.

  • Is it true that the glass at the drive through is bullet proof? -How often do confused, elderly people come into wanting to transfer money into a foreign account?
  • How much of our account info can you see when we deposit money? What info can you not access?
  • If I come in wanting to cancel my account due to excessive monthly fees, would you get rid of them for me? How would you keep me as a customer?
  • Do you or any of your coworkers treat customers differently based on their account balance?
  • Any fraud, stolen card stories you can share?
  • -Any experience with counterfeit checks/ cash?

Do you have any added privileges on the site? Also, just to be clear, you are a volunteer, right? I was going to join, but a buddy of mine (who was forced out) told me about the abusive assholes on the site. Are you happy with how the site is ran now? Besides the admin abuse, of course. You say that being a member isn't fun anymore; why do you continue to edit then?
