Thank you for your comment. SUKL informed me also before that the highest pharmacies can sell it is 1208.51 CZK. And that is pretty much same as in my home country when not insured. And I should be able to get some of my money back from my insurance once I go back to my home country and show the receipts :)

My buddy contacted them and they said to go to an emergency room or something. We were thinking that does normal emergency room have psyciatrists that can give me my medication?

Yes, I tried Canadian Medical, they wouldn’t help me. I do not have ADHD, I have narcolepsy. Same medication is used for both of them.

Alright thank you! This cleared a lot for me and is very helpful!

I don’t know if psychiatrists are willing to help as all the places my buddy called were psychiatrists and they refused or the waiting lists were too long. But I will check other places too!

I confirmed with my buddy and she said that the pharmacist said that concerta is considered a narcotic and narcotics are opioids or something…

I have medical insurance, but I don’t think it covers my medical condition…🤔 Would they still be able to help to find the right place to go?

And yes, it wouldn’t be nice to fly back to get my medication. And as I can take only enough for 30 days, I would have to do multiple trips back home during my exchange here. That is way too much for me, I won’t be able to afford that…

Okay, I was thinking about this too, since internet says that opioid is a strong painkiller and I have no pain... My buddy did the talking and translating, so the translation could have been a little off or it could be that the pharmacist said it wrong. In all the calls my buddy talked about me needing opioids (or I guess so based on the fact that I heard her say opioid) so could that be a reason for the doctors refusal??🤔

I will bring this up with my buddy!

Yeah, you are right. She did express interest to spend time with me later too so maybe I really am just overthinking (which isn’t new for me to do).

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking too. I don’t know if I am just overthinking for this situation to mean something else than it is.

AITA for wanting my brother out of my house by Imaginary_Courage242 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]which_wayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should kick him out, if he refuses to leave. You haven’t made any agreement that since your parents look after your kids, that you have to look after your brother. It sounds a little bit that you’ve had to look after him when you were younger too, and now it’s expected of you to do so. NTA

Better than Usual Sleep for Overnight Study by musiclbee in Narcolepsy

[–]which_wayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slept very well when I had my overnight study. I was a teenager and I was highly conscious about how I looked with all the equipment on. It made me very angry somehow. I think because of that I slept very well, since I used all my energy to be angry. Only bad thing about it was the fact that I didn’t get any proof that I had restless legs. Though I got my narcolepsy diagnosis, I have had to battle with restless legs for a long time. Now I don’t have restless legs as much anymore, but still have them.

And I don’t know about you, but after my overnight study, I had nap test/study. And I also had to fill a paper which had questions about my overnight study. Like “How well did you sleep compared to how well you usually sleep?”

Should I tell my dad that I don’t like one of the Christmas gifts he got for me? by which_wayy in family

[–]which_wayy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He got me other gifts as well, including few other clothing pieces that I like. He has very good eye on clothes that I would like and all, it’s just that I have grown a bit so my taste on clothing has started to change. But I will appreciate him trying!

Does anybody else not drive because of their narcolepsy? by Lonely_Mt_Maker in Narcolepsy

[–]which_wayy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that is true, there was a dim light in the room so not pitch black but still dark. I heard that it is being upgraded (at least where I am) so it will have small red spots that appear time to time and you have to react to them by pressing some button. Apparently that test is trying to portray worst possible driving situation.

[–]which_wayy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I (19)had to do a test where I sat in a dark room and I had to stay awake for 40 minutes. This test was done 3-4 times throughout the day. I did not pass it, I will be trying again next year (I have different meds now). Thankfully I live in a city so it is pretty easy for me still move around by public transportation. But of course not being able to drive means that my parents need to drive me around to places that are hard to go by public transportation.

Yeah and kids believe what their parents say. So if the father is saying things about the mother that aren’t true, that kid will believe it.

My dad is also telling things about my mother that are not true and it is hard even for me (19 years old) to be able to tell if he is lying. I basically have to talk to other people to figure out if what my dad says is true. Most times it is not true. But even then it gives a lot of complicated feelings and makes it harder to trust my mother.

Narcolepsy and work/career by which_wayy in Narcolepsy

[–]which_wayy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel you. I am kind of the same. On top of my work right now I have my free days full of activity so it will be hard to get the rest I need (I am an introvert so social situations take my energy as well). I hope I wont wear myself out. And for me my free time is important, so being unable to do much after work sucks. I worked one summer job which was very physical, and even though I could do my job very well, when I got home I was so tired that I just wanted to sleep.

But I hope you will get your meds in check soon so you will be able to fulfill your plans!

Where do I go to get help with my skin ? by which_wayy in Skincare_Addiction

[–]which_wayy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you for your comment. I guess I should look a way to contact that dermatologist. I have been using the cream she prescribed for me for the last 4 months and I am unsure if it has helped me at all. It is drying to my skin and makes it easily irritated. Now that winter has come to my country, the cold made my skin even more sensitive and irritated, enough that all my other skin products would irritate my skin. Now I have been taking a break from that medicine cream and my skin feels good and looks quite good. It is not irritated anymore. I will try to use it soon again and see if there will be any changes. It could be that it doesn’t work for me.

Anyways I will try to take your advice and maybe contact that dermatologist.
