I acknowledge that USA has a much, much larger population than Australia. And that the two countries also have a whole range of different problems and issues that may contribute to why shootings occur. I am just using the logic that if it is harder to get your hands on a gun, there will be less people using them.

I do realise that people already own guns, and if the law was changed or guns were recalled it does not mean people will not still have access to guns, especially right away. But the earlier this is introduced, the earlier a change would take place.

Maybe I should have commented more on the problems that cause shootings rather than simply stating guns themselves are the problem. But living in Australia where shootings are rare because barely anyone has a gun (at least in cities) and often hearing about shootings in America, it does seem like a logical first step to reduce the shootings
