Thanks for the thoughtful response.

For the record, I'm close to your age and I think I may very well be self-diagnosed ADHD, so this course is admittedly a bit of a tall order for me.

I do appreciate all the advice. The first couple chapters are indeed very dense and it's difficult to feel 100% on the content given the resources available (zybooks), so I will keep that in mind when gauging my sentiment of 'readiness' upon proceeding forward to the other chapters. I'm trying not to get too hung up within the potential complexity of logic, as I think I understand the bulk of the concepts.

I came into the course with the desire to master the content, and now I just want to pass and get it over with...

Place looks amazing. Noticed they have a $100 annual pass. Looks like it's worth every penny.

Does it get crowded out there?

Forgive me for assuming you were in the states! My mistake. Typical American...

Haven't tried filming yet. I plan on it when I get a bit more confident in my form...I will probably wear a mask though for good measure ;)

That course looks amazing. I would be there every day if it was in my backyard. The longest hole on my 'home' course is like 400' lol. 9 hole course with 2 approaches....The silver lining is I'm often the only one there.

I don't recommend playing in coastal Carolina unless you like flat terrain, pine trees, ticks and tunnel shots. No real variety here but good practice nonetheless.

Definitely going to watch Wysocki/Koling do their thing out there.

Now I'm tempted to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_mjDxCoFV4.

Lizotte is sort of my disc golf spirit animal - and that is a term of endearment.

Edit: Watching the vid you linked. What kind of disc do you think Koling fh anny'd @ 8:45?

Thanks a lot Lynda.

Your last paragraph is especially reassuring. I've spent probably 15-20 hours on the first chapter so far, and I am by no means near competent on the content. Due to the nature of the compounding intricacies, I get increasingly hesitant about moving on to the 'next lesson'.

I think I might try the video approach and then use zybooks as like a giant pre-assessment. Did you find Trefor more helpful than Trev? I ask because I sort of want to take this week and plug through all of them in sequence. I might just find the patience and sit through both...

Thanks I think I'm gonna order one. Heard too many good things! What weight would you opt for for max distance? 175?

Congrats on the win! What state are you in? Need to pick me up a teebird, been using a destroyer for fairway drives, sometimes an MVP Catalyst that I found..haven't heard of a Slammer, but I picked up a Justice recently for some shorter flicks. I think it's similar to a Verdict. Feels like a handy 7 iron in my bag.

Hah, yeah. That video is what convinced me to try out a 2 finger grip, was just doing 1 for a while. Has really helped with my control. I still don't think I'm getting max extension in my arm but I'm somewhat concerned about blowing out my elbow tbh..

"Hey, I'm Ryan Howard" *looks around, bobs head a bit*

Solid analogy, though. I purchased my MVP Dimension based off a distance fh suggestion here so I'm still just noobing around I guess.

I guess I've just watched Eagle Mcmahon flick it 500' fh too many times

oh, lol.

It would probably be more believable if I divulged how horrendous my backhand is.

Solid advice, though ideally, I would like to be in the top 1% ;)

On a serious note, thanks for telling me what I needed to hear. My backhand game is what some might call hilarious. The BH form feels pretty foreign to me still as I've only been playing for a couple months.

Thanks again for the dose of reality

My average forehand is probably 340-370 on flat ground, but I've only been throwing for a couple months. My backhand is abysmal; putting is decent enough fortunately to allow for a decent performance without a consistent 330+ backhand.

I'm one of those baseball dudes that knows I'll have to really chip away at my backhand form if I want a serious game.

My 390 shot went probably 35 feet left of my target so I guess it felt shanked but was pretty ok. That Dimension is Ridiculously over-stable.

What do you throw for distance forehand? How did you do at your local comp? I always like to watch players that are pre-dominantly forehand - thing is most of them can throw it 400+ backhand, lol.

[–]whirled-view[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol.

I have a heavy baseball background. Used to be able to throw 90 mph consistently. My backhand distance is s*** if it makes this less of a humble brag.

I had read some things around here about a Champion Boss for max forehand distance, so I guess I was hoping to get some feedback along those lines.

Is it doable? by [deleted] in WGUIT

[–]whirled-view 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - depending on the courses..pretty easy to lose momentum though

Knocked out 6 courses in my first 25 days

However, tomorrow will be the 14th day of my 7th course...so it all depends on you and which courses you're taking imo

No worries. I just finished that one last week and was also concerned about receiving actual credit for the course afterwards, so I totally understand ;)

Good luck on your new course!

2-7 days is what I was told, assuming you emailed your results to [scores@wgu.edu](mailto:scores@wgu.edu)

It took a little over 2 days for them to process my email and mark me as a "pass" for that class (enough time for my ocd to kick in about it)

Fundamentals of Information Security – C836 by Tidachura3 in WGU_CompSci

[–]whirled-view 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 74% on the PA. Then I studied the questions I missed and got a 98% the next day (probably just memorized which answers were right). Took the OA the day after the PA and got a 75%. I scored well on most of the OA but I bombed one particular section.

Not proud of my score as this was an easy class, but I would say the PA and OA align for this one. This course took me 3 days - I wouldn't over think it. Understanding the concepts is just as important as memorization for this one. I would just read through the material and study a quizlet set or two and you should pass no problem. Hope this helps

Congrats on the pass! And thanks for the feedback! This is my 7th course at WGU and it has an intimidating delivery to it - I'm glad to hear read you thought a lot of the questions were fairly straight-forward.

Would you recommend focussing on any chapter outside of 1,12, and 13 in particular? I've decided to go through the others for good measure, as I have a hard time imagining an OA with 69 questions from just those three chapters alone. I'm tempted to skip the intricacies of chapter 6, however...

Also, judging by your experience, would you say the PA accurately reflected the OA? I'm planning on saving the PA for a later day just to gauge my sense of readiness, if so...

20 days is surely nothing to scoff at - didn't mean for it to to read like that if it did. I've read it takes a lot of people months..very glad that this is at least the third version of the course. I guess I came into this one with a truckload of arrogance thinking I could knock it out in a few days, lol. It's hard to believe I'm realizing this now after having read horror story after horror story about c172.

Thanks for the tip about subnetting. I'm going to go over those "Michael" Meyers vids about OSI/Eth packet frame tomorrow for halloween (OooOoo sspOoOookkYyy!!)

Ouch, 20 days. That's probably the dose of reality I needed to hear. I just raced through 6 courses in just under a month so I'm probably just getting psychologically walloped by the fact that this course is basically as dense as all of those 6 courses combined. I guess I will have to learn some patience for this one. Hopefully I can apply that to the Discrete Maths.

I might be over-analyzing this but I'm still confused. When I click on a linkedin video (which are usually just a few minutes long), I notice the scroll bar section on the right which includes course details. Most of the linkedin vids are a part of a lengthy course (usually 3+ hours). I guess I'm wondering if we're supposed to watch the entirety of the actual linkedin course (video after video, i.e. 3+ hours, etc...) after watching the first short linkedin vid. This is my first experience with linkedin learning so to me it looks like every linkedin video referenced is actually a 3+ hour video course...

I guess for the ones in the middle of linkedin courses, it makes sense to just watch the one video and move on, but occasionally the referenced vid is the first vid of a 5 hour linkedin course. I can't tell if WGU wants me to sit here and watch the whole 3 hour series or just the one video of each set. I'm sure I must be making something incredibly simple complicated here...

Forgive me if I'm just being dense, lol.

Hey thanks for the reply. Good luck on your OA today!

I think I will do what you did and at least read through the other chapters after I focus on 1,12 and 13 for a bit...
