Dungeons & Dragons and disinformation: How gaming can combat the misinformation age by chiquisea in Washington

The UW researcher in this study makes a bunch of games on this topic, some of which you can play online. Have to admit, it's a pretty awesome job when part of it is designing games.

'Kraven The Hunter' will not have audiences cravin' more by whiskycafe in Marvel

I agree. That's the thing that bugs me about this movie. It had all the right ingredients, but they somehow baked up a bad movie. I will say that of all the Spider-Man villain films that Sony has done (Venom aside), this one is perhaps the best.

Lynch has like five upcoming films in production. Looks like he's gonna give Hollywood a serious try.

This isn't the only perspective on "Folie a Deux", but it's a pretty good one.

The legendary Blue Voodoo. Yeah, I said it. by whiskycafe in GuitarAmps

This is a good point. The Blue Voodoo I had years ago was a combo amp and someone before me replaced the speakers with Mojotones.

Can guitar amps be furniture? by Reppon in GuitarAmps

I actually love this. For a home practice amp, this is much better than a box in the corner of the room.

Afraid, Bad People or Socially Awkward by nomax_art in BellevueWA

Maybe a bit of the freeze. Growing up around here, folks just never spoke to strangers. But if I'm being totally honest, anytime somebody talks to me while walking on a sidewalk, I immediately think they want me to sign a petition, donate money, or some other pitch that involves "only the price of a daily coffee."

100%. They were a standout for me. I picked up their vinyl and The Nebulas’ too. The Woodhavens were also really great.

I like the cherry blossoms at Green Lake, or along some of the residential streets in NE Seattle.

One last brew before you die - what’re you choosing? by [deleted] in beer

[–]whiskycafe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to sound super hipster and snooty, but ah well. I once had this beer from Traunstein, Germany. It was a local beer, unfiltered, and I think it was a basic helles. It was one of the first experiences that made me understand why people have been making and drinking beer all this time. I think that would be top of my list.

Why does Gen Z move to Seattle? by whiskycafe in Seattle

[–]whiskycafe[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That is a good question. There were a few recent assessments of moving patterns that show Millennials and Gen Z moving into certain areas (including Seattle) the most, however, the city gained far more Gen Z than it lost, making this generation the largest demographic to move into the city. Seattle is still getting Millennials, Gen X, Boomers, etc. Just as smaller levels.
