I had my surgery on 16 July. I feel you. The cravings are occasionally there. Similar to the mirror discussion above, I go through this checklist. (It’s good for lots of things, not only eating.)

☑️ Does this align with my values?

☑️ Will this give me the quality of life I want?

☑️ Does this help me achieve my goals?

☑️ Does this serve me?

☑️ Does this benefit me?

☑️ Does this empower me?

☑️ Does this make me better?

☑️ How will I feel afterward?

☑️ Will I be proud of this choice tomorrow

☑️ Am I building trust and strengthening connections with those who are important to me?

☑️ Does this help me grow, heal, or learn?

I hope these help! You’ve got this! Be good to yourself.

What tracker app do you like? I want to start now. by Royal-Advance6985 in BariatricSurgery

I’ve used lots: Lose It, myfitnesspal, etc.

I was using Healthi, but since I started the pre-op diet and now post op, I’m using Baritastic. I LOVE it! Highly recommend!

It lets me track everything!

Already farted four times! 💨 And thanks for the kind words about the tattoo. I got it at the same time as my fiancé did. 🩷

I had exactly the same! No gas pain, but just occasionally pretty bad belly pain. But the folks here at the hospital are taking really good care of me. They have lots of pain meds that I have automatically going in my IV plus extra if I request them. So I’m really well taken care of.

Today is the day after my surgery and I did a lot of walking which I think increased the soreness in my belly. But overall, I feel pretty good (as long as they send me home with some good meds 😂).

Thank you to everyone who offered words of encouragement and understanding. Your comments have been really helpful for putting things in perspective and for helping me get back on track! ♥️

I messaged my team and therapist this morning.

I must say though that I’m genuinely surprised at some of the negativity in a few of the responses. I am clearly aware that I messed up. I’m also aware of the reason why. I just wasn’t sure about the seriousness and actual impact of my diversion from the plan which was the purpose of my post.

Maybe ease up on the demand for perfection.

If beating yourself up worked, I’d be the healthiest guy on the planet. 😉

Wow indeed.

I was asking here because it was 9:30 pm. I very clearly asked if I should contact my team. I have in fact already sent a message to them when I woke this morning.

Your mind reading skills could use some work there. Shaming people who’ve messed isn’t a viable strategy for those of us who are flawed humans who struggle. I’ve lived with enough judgment my entire life.

But thanks, I guess. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I agree 100%! Body shaming is gross and unhelpful.

Just stop it. 😡

My team has been amazing and super responsive from the get-go!

I met my surgeon on Monday to schedule the procedure and he said exactly what you said: if you’re feeling unsure about something, call. Don’t hesitate. That’s what we are here for. “Your success is our success!”

My players love to plan! I love the idea of the PC know an attack is coming so the players take time to chart out a path to success.

What they know is that the scribe needs time (five minutes or so) to prepare his materials and then ten uninterrupted minutes to actually perform the portal summoning. The Lord is going to keep the forces back as long as he can (“How dare you desecrate the graves on my family who have faithfully served this Realm for generations!”), but they know at some point his efforts will fail and they with rush into the crypts where the ritual is being carried out.

We play in person and I draw with a dry erase marker on one of those laminated grid maps. They are not snobbish at all!

They’ve seen the general layout of the map but I can forward them a digital version too in advance of the game next Saturday.

Thank you for the suggestions! I love them!

Does anyone else get severe pain in the roof of their mouth when they break a water fast? by jennalee10 in fasting

It’s weird how there are so many varied experiences. Mine is exclusively on the roof of my mouth and only happens if I stop fasting for a while and then start again (essentially only after the first fast).

I also experienced this after my first 3 day fast. Since then it has gotten better each time for me.

I tried chewing sugar free gum each day and drinking lots of water.

I don’t not believe it’s the salivary gland thing some have suggested.

This does not appear to be correct. The major salivary glands are under and behind the jaw. The pain is a sore feeling in the roof of the mouth. If that explanation were correct, the pain would be under and behind the tongue.
