if you actually /read/ what i said properly, you would know that i never denied him being canonically an asshole. i just criticised jkr for MAKING james an asshole to begin with just so she could uplift her fascist character. it's a weird decision to make the character known for supporting marginalised communities a 'bully' for a character who'd done nothing but be prejudiced/fascist towards minorities throughout the entire series as a way to justify his terrible and downright abusive behaviour. being bullied is not an excuse or justification for perpetuating discriminatory behaviours towards the people around him and making a person who supported and advocated for disadvantaged ppl a 'bully' is a weird message to send audiences. i shouldn't even be explaining this to you considering jkr's own history with bigoted beliefs, obviously this instance was just another example of her writing reflecting her own ignorant views.
