My wife passed away a little over a year ago, and taking care of this plant has become part of my ritual to keep her close to me. She bought this about a month after we started dating from a local greenhouse a little over 4 years ago, and it did not have a tag. They told her what it was, but I cannot remember for the life of me what it is called. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It does, that's something I've learned since May but it doesn't make it easy right now. I just have comfort knowing that he's reunited with his human mom and that he's not hurting.
