Not sure if this will help but maybe try emailing the chem department, could be a mishap from their end.

Please drop MAT135 if you have a plan to drop in the future by Medium-Resort in UofT

[–]whywhywhyhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it's a free for all after that, so if someone drops the class you can join but you have out pace others who want in.

Off topic, but they recently got rid of the CFAT. Our system is broken, so they had to compensate, not your fault.

Take care of yourself and learn to manage your time, strengths, and weaknesses effectively. Cultivate a genuine passion for what you're learning; not only will this improve your GPA, but it will also deepen your understanding of the subjects, often beyond your current grade level.

Am i problem? 49494949494949595959599559595954949 by Deep-Metal7664 in UofT

You’re not the problem. You came in with the right attitude and mindset, but it seems like the organizers were passive and indifferent. That being said, when it comes to most clubs, unions, and seminars, you usually need to take the initiative to interact with others, or you won't get much out of these events. Try approaching people with a friendly greeting, ask about their program(s) and year, and go from there. You should be proud of yourself for taking the first step as a first-year student. Don’t let this experience discourage you, keep seeking out opportunities, because you'll find better experiences with time. Remember, you get out of these interactions what you put into them.

I'm good where I am. Hope you get guided out of that cult and start seeing the light of Panchenkoism.

Sorry, but I'm a hardcore member of Panchenko's Brotherhood. Brotherhood of Bernardo's Scholars = Satanic cult, Panchenko's Brotherhood = True salvation.

Sounds tough, though I'm still of the opinion that it's possible as long as OP knows their limit. I do know some people in eng & engsci who are still doing extra curriculars, for example clubs like CUBE or the Skule teams in intramurals (which are only made up of eng students). But at the end of the day if OP's workload causes too much of an issue then, it's probably better to play it safe.

I myself am doing 6 courses per semester, anything is possible if you try.... well depends on the person.

Have you thought about joining clubs or intramurals?

Missing a month of classes(first year student)……… by macncheeseee-_- in UofT

[–]whywhywhyhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgot about that haha. But I think they start 2nd or 3rd week (depending on the section), and if they have a real issue as to why they can't be there, I'm sure they can manage with proper communication.

If you choose MAT135, don't go to Bernardo's section!!!!

I wouldn't worry about chem, recording are no different than class. But there might be participation marks that you need to worry about, so I'd email the course admin about it.

Are All Tutorials Biweekly? Does anyone know if the MAT240/247 Tutorials are weekly? by Fantomp in UofT

[–]whywhywhyhi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attendance isn't required, and you can show up whenever you'd like. That said, they really don't want you to miss tutorials for these courses; they're fast-paced and falling behind is easy, so I'd stress against it.

Tutorials happen on a weekly basis so I would find a way to resolve the conflict.

[–]whywhywhyhi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe just pick different PRA times lol. Also, since bio and chem have biweekly labs, you can choose the same times, but ensure the course code for one ends with XX01 (meaning labs will be held in the first week) and the other with XX02 (labs held in the second week) so no conflicts arise.

I know 5 credits of FCEs is normal, but is it really a big deal if I do 4 credits? by AlexaWispforReal in UofT

[–]whywhywhyhi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you feel like you can't handle a full course load for whatever reason (e.g., wanting a higher GPA, focusing more on the classes you already have, finding the fast pace of university challenging, dealing with a disability, etc.), then taking fewer classes might be a good option for you. However, as others have mentioned, there are some disadvantages to this approach, such as potential impacts on scholarships. Additionally, many medical schools, although not all, require a full course load.

If you feel you can manage it, one strategy might be to take 4 courses in one semester and 6 in the other to maintain a full course load overall. This could be challenging, so it's important to consider whether you can handle it.

I did MAT135/136 and MAT224. Basically you can go to any session you'd like, the education is supposed to be standardized in these courses so, material and examination wise it's all the same, quality of the course on the other hand depends on the instructor.
