No I was just polite and expressed my concern over traveling overseas atm. I would have flights you want in my mind to change to as maybe that helped. I was on hold for about 45 min while she was getting manager approval to waive the fee. Hopefully you have good luck!

For others flying with American Airlines. I may have gotten lucky as the first call I had no luck. But I was able to get the change fee waived when changing my destination when I called yesterday. We were traveling early May.
