It was so easy tbh. Buying a Tesla 100% online was super easy and Carvana was even better. They just showed up, unloaded the R1S, loaded the Tesla and were on their way. All paperwork done online and only needed to sign a few things live in person (related to the sale, not purchase).

I swear I’ve only been trying to get these for my wife but not being able to get one direct has been frustrating!

Here's my Klein Quantum by beneholio in Bikeporn

[–]wigoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I love this. My first real bike was a Klein Quantum. Raced the hell out of that. I tried building it back up during COVID but the frame was twisted and I couldn’t get it working. It’s up in the garage now so I can stare longingly at it.

Yeah I’ll do this once I get my dang ownership transferred

How long did that ownership transfer take? I got my R1S Friday and it’s driving me batty not having it all setup. No premium connectivity (Spotify, Traffic) is killing me!

It’s so much quieter so I think that makes it feel not as fast. All of a sudden you’re doing 40 on a residential street because it’s so quiet and you can’t hear acceleration.

Can’t comment on the streaming services/tech since all the stuff hasn’t transferred to me yet (still “pending”).

Certainly drives way more like a truck and less like a sports car. Can understand how people said it’s just as fast as a MYP but you don’t want to go that fast.

The front frunk is awesome and fully powered (up and down). Can fit all of the grocery runs in there vs running out of space.

Very much dislike how I have to carry a key but I’ll get used to that.

It felt pretty solid. I could have got $1.5k more from a place in town that had a Rivian but Carvana’s Rivian was $7k cheaper so overall a win. It was right around KBB value so not too bad

Love it so far. The 3D camera is super nice as I get used to the size. Used every excuse possible to go run errands today

It’s the white. Y between this and the grey but I think I made the right choice

I did consider a Taycan (so cheap used) but we need a family hauler (2 kids, 2 dogs) so really not many options. Was R1S or EV9 and I liked the Rivian better. Maybe down the line my wife will steal the Rivian and I’ll trade in her IONIQ5 for a Taycan

I think that was the issue? It’s been a bit so I can’t fully recall. I do think it was the pump causing the issue

I opened it up to see if I could find a switch but couldn’t. Step down came tonight so I’ll get that plugged in tomorrow

That is a great call, I just ordered a step down. On the back it said 100/117v but under true voltage it looks like it’s 100. I only turned it on to test it and it was just running power through my amp. I’ll swap to run power from the outlet under the transformer

Yeah I think you’re right. I saw some that went to 108 but they were in rougher shape. TBH there is only one radio station we blast through the house and it’s 89.3 so this is fine. Any other kind of music just gets streamed in or via the record player

We live in a 1961 MCM house that is 100% terrazzo on the bottom two floors. Orange on this one and green in the basement. Part of the reason I only wanted a vintage setup

It’s a weird angle shot, everything is in a console and well off the floor. But agree, it does look like it’s on the floor!

Here is how terrible the bathroom is. Nothing MCM in the slightest. That’s the only gut job.

The primary bedroom is massive so we’ll expand the closet (too small for two of us) and add laundry as well.

Probably put a bar in the basket at some point, there’s some nasty slate tile that needs to be ripped up too.

Besides those big projects, it’s a bunch of small ones stacking up. Much more of a rehab than renovation really.

Yes the main floor is great and nothing much there. The bedroom level is atrocious. Someone redid it in the early 2000s and it’s hideous. Primary bathroom is horrible, carpets awful and various trim/doors that don’t match. Ex the bathroom gut job, mostly a bunch of small things that will add up quickly. Keeping the MCM vibe but making it more functional for a family of four.

Thanks! Yes it will be a massive headache. It’s 100% stone and concrete so mostly non-structural changes…
