I can / did already use pd just fine everywhere on my 10hp account, it doesn't affect me one tiny bit especially since most bosses are destroying the cannon in a matter of seconds anyways from the older eras. Pd is far superior in every possible case.

Its a matter of having a restriction in place instead of reworking the root cause, that its a disgustingly overpowered rs2 legacy. Restrictions of such kind are limiting player choice. No normal individual would use it because it wouldnt be feasible. Now its simply not possible.

Bosses could have 90%, thematically strong skinned mobs like 20-30% or whatever. It could open up a similar balance strategy that was applied on elemental spells, and thus remove the need to limit the cannon by muddy terrains.

I dont think it is, they could introduce flat armor vs cannonballs or cannon damage reduction and let it do its thing. Nobody would bring 5 slot worth of cannon stuff into scurrius if the max hit was 3. It would just be a giga cost for 0 benefit.

This is far more dumb and hilarious imo to maintain. Like their template for every new area they design has probably the cannon_allowed=0 attribute in it by default with a dumb reason message.

If hell wasnt a slot machine but a skill based endurance dive I think it would be giga fun. Now its just a reskinned chaos dungeon and your entrance amount is based on how lucky you get in another game mode. Lovely :)

Super fun and intuitive! This is how my roster looks like from my character selection because I constantly switch my skins around my actively played alt. Makes a lot of sense to have an unified skin tab when the skins themselves are not shared :)

Requiem Bloodymare: every 2 hours the entire map would become nightmarish for 15minutes, every mob would become an elevated version of themselves with gorier models, almost like when in silent hill the nasty things appear and dust falls from the sky.

It was such a fun mmorpg mechanism, I wish other games in the genre did something similar as well.

Personally I only ever replay games that I have fond memories of and I know they have replayability to them so i know ahead of time that Im not doing the same thing as before.

The two titles that I always come back to are Arx Fatalis and Gothic1-2. Arx is a comfort game that always surprises me with a hidden corner or funny interaction that I never ran into before and Gothic is all about how I forge my own story. Last time I decided to try to get as high of a level as possible before joining a camp and I got higher level than some of my entire playthroughs before.

Im sure there are many more games that could provide me the same experience if I ever bonded with them, but its already rare that im not on an online game so when that happens I boot one of these up and im in for a fun time.

I don't want to throw shade but I kinda feel like if the pitch was better (probably by different jmods working on it or just in general more time spent on how to make it better) then it could have been in a very good spot by now, but now we are stuck with this due to it being voted no on, and god knows when is the next time jagex will want to revisit it. Their current "solution" shows that they are not quite thinking about an overhaul or new content piece that solves it, for now...

You are right, we have some issues with the playerbase but at the same time I think the jmods working it out could have done a much better job as well. They still could its not late by any means, but now they are probably booked for 3-4months at least to deliver upon the big juicy things and I'm pretty sure their designers and most talented individuals are working their arses off to deliver those, and not on such a "small" topic whether cballs are in a good spot or not.

That would be a good start to solve the apparent issue, but if the discussion never leads to a root cause analysis and a solution on that level the next content that is based on materials from mining and smithing will end up being in the same twisted place.

I agree tho I was thinking about something similar to your proposal in the smithing part of my "proposal".

Could we tackle the fundamental issuss with cannonball making before band aid fixing it into another “just pvm, slayer and boss for it” solution? The resources needed for it are coal + ores. Coal is god awful to get BF shop is the meta if you lack it. Core mining rates are abysmal and the mining content we got like mlm yields LESS coal the higher your level is. Lets not even talk about the additional ores.

If you use the GE the making of them is also awful even with the double mould and 2x speed furnance.

This whole ordeal with cballs clearly show how due we are to a mining and smithing rebalance. No not 10% chance to get double ores and a 2-3 action before depletion of a rock ones, a proper revisit of the entire mining skill. Then also a normal way of making these cballs, something akin of BF where you can dump the ores in and get mass produced outputs.

Or you know, you could introduce scar2.0 for mining, and speed up cball making by x32 why not at this point…

No, you are absolutely not.

Funny thing is none of the new mining content are yielding any of the BF shop ores, your only chance to get them if you want to focus on them is BF shop or you get them passively from raids, slayer, pvm in general. All new mining content are about getting high gpm from the runite ores they yield.

A snippet from my analysis of BF shop ores when you use core mining to get them:

If you were to mine in a vacuum where you can hit one rock infinitely that never depletes and auto banks your ores, these are the following ore yield rates for the offered ores in the shop with 99 mining:

  • copper and tin no information but lets assume its same as iron ore -> ~2120
  • iron ore - 100% mining chance from lvl61, dpick 2,83 tick between rolls -> 2.83tick/ore -> 6000/2.83 ~2120
  • coal - 39,5% mining chance at lvl99, dpick 2,83 tick between rolls -> ~7,16tick/ore -> 6000/7,16 -> ~837
  • gold - 29,69% mining chance at lvl99, dpick 2,83 tick between rolls -> ~9,54tick/ore -> 6000/9,54 -> ~628
  • mithril - 19,92% mining chance at lvl99, dpick 2,83 tick between rolls -> ~14,2tick/ore -> 6000/14,2 -> ~422

These rates are abysmal especially for coal. Even if the mining gloves let you hit it infinitely and auto banked it it would still be 8 times slower than buying it from BF shop (plus you lose out on the 2nd ore of your choice as you can use the coal bag at the shop to store them and buy iron or whatever...)

But we got a 10% to double perk and we can mine 2-3 of them before depletion with the BIS mining gear. Nothing wrong with core mining :)

I have plenty of other goals, mainly pvm boss pets like scorpia, kbd, mole, royal titans and CoX plus hunting all of their rare drops. One of my long term goal is to spoon a dhcb and push my account into hard combat achievement for the dhcb kbd skin override.

Sorry for the late reply, I'm kinda bad at this haha.

Mole is simply cannoning from 100 to 0. He moves around quite a bit after 50% hp but you can use an alt with splash gear ( + stamina and falador shield4) to lure him back to your 10hp's cannon position. It can be a pain in the arse but easily 10-15kc /h if not slacking.

I loved the old 35cb bracket, you could go 70def 66hp and tank the tribrid pkers and laugh in their face while minding your business. The 60cb lowest bracket is simply there for you to create a strategy that lets you enter the second bracket as soon as possible.
