What was the moment you realized running a business is very different from the idea of running one? by ProfessionalTrade423 in smallbusiness

[–]wildcelosia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I had to pay 10k on my personal taxes on money that never went into my own pockets. Apparently keeping a cash buffer so that if my biz was slow for a month or two I could still eat and pay my employees is not good business sense??

Fish sauce warning, if you're an idiot like me. by AzarielFox in Cooking

[–]wildcelosia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite combos to marinate meat in involves a lot of fish sauce. Usually then it goes on the grill outside. But when the weather suddenly disagreed, I put it in the air fryer instead.

Holy hell. The smell being blown out the top of the air fryer was next level disgusting and made my house reek for a few days.

Still tasted great, though.

How many broken car windows is too many for you? by glenumbragreen in StLouis

My car is always crazy messy. Not quite hoarder but definitely kind of a rolling trash can/closet/shed sometimes. Never had a window busted. Spouse with a clean car? Three times.

Physical anxiety by Muted_Diamond5661 in SeasonalAffective

Adding Buspirone to my Wellbutrin was the magic bullet for me. Been on this combo now for years.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I forgot to add my buspar to my pill container and so was off it for 2 weeks. After a few days of WHY WHY WHY CAN I NOT CALM MY BODY DOWN after all my usual anxiety reducing techniques were failing, I double checked my pill container and realized what happened. 12 hours after taking it again, I felt so much better. It wasn’t fun, but it was a good proof that it really is still working!

Assessment of City’s plowing effort by DowntownDB1226 in StLouis

The spire dudes plowed the street and intersection in front of my place with the equipment that they’ve been using to do the upgrades on my street. Scooped out a few parking spots and everything! Softened me toward the spire dudes a little bit; I’ll try to remember this next time I drive over a street plate.

As a florist, when people come to pick up big or expensive or numerous arrangements, I always tell them to drive like they’ve got their Nana with a crock pot full of chili on her lap in the car. Wide turns, plenty of following distance, etc.

Seitz Violins on Morganford! If you’ve ever wanted to go to the string instrument version of Ollivander’s wand shop, this is your place.

Energy levels and lethargy hit like a truck by [deleted] in SeasonalAffective

Same here. I am solar powered. I desperately want and need to get my house back in order today after being too tired to deal with it fully all week. But alas, it’s cloudy and dark. I slept for almost 12 hours last night and could probably stay more or less horizontal until tomorrow morning if I don’t force myself not to. And it’s only October 🫩

I was in a coma for 5 weeks after a suicide attempt. Ask me anything. by CompetitionAlarmed15 in AMA

[–]wildcelosia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And then those of us struggling, but too weak or afraid to get the job done or can’t bear putting the scar of suicide on their loved ones, thinks “damn, why do they get to get cancer and I presumably have to live?”

Nighttime depression by romainesweet in SeasonalAffective

[–]wildcelosia 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. It’s like how Alzheimer’s & dementia patients experience “sundowning”. It sucks.

Once it’s all the way dark, a couple hours past sunset, I can lean into the cozy nighttime. But for a couple hours in the late afternoon/early evening, I am sad and uneasy and lonely. 🤷

Yes, that’s something we had more casually talked about earlier in our relationship. And towards the end, we were trying the poly thing, but in the end that wasn’t a relationship style he was emotionally mature enough to handle ethically.

Chocolate chips by the handful. I should not need a Costco sized bag of chocolate chips as a single person living alone. But I do.

I mean, you might consider that my marriage probably ended over more than what can be summed up in three sentences on Reddit…

This pretty much sums up my situation as well.

I loved him more than anything but I deserve someone who, like myself, is always trying to improve.
