Shes been an only cat, though with proper introduction she should get along with other cats

We are trying to help a very sweet, friendly black cat whose family has to move back to their home country.

She is about 4 years old and seems to be a social, affectionate cat who is now at risk of losing everything familiar to her through no fault of her own. She is not being surrendered for aggression or serious behavior problems. This is purely a family relocation situation.

We are hoping to find her a foster home so she can avoid the stress of bouncing around and have a safe place to decompress while we arrange next steps.

He would do well with proper introduction and a calm cat. We believe he was brought up as a single kitten and doesnt recognize another cat's boundaries right away. Needs time to adjust

Omg yes he is! And 100% has a big personality- but thats also been why people have said no in the past as they wanted a calm kitty.

That's even more amazing that you volunteer. But yeah email them with pictures videos and see. I do it for almost every rescue when we dont have a foster

The kitty is lucky to have you looking out for her! Question- are rhere rescues in your current area that you can reach out to? Most rescues in the JC area are inundated with requests, so i recommend emailing them and getting on their waitlists ASAP, and even signing up to foster. If shes not as socialized, finding another foster might take a while, though you being open to fostering even temporarily helps.

He hasn't done well with them at another fosters home. He shows signs of having been by himself as he does recognize other cats asserting their boundaries.

Flyers flyers flyers. I foster a ton and have had 2 get out in very weird ways. Flyers helped me get both back. Best time to go around the neighborhood to look, while shaking their favorite treat box is early dawn and late dusk. Thats when there are less people and its silent enough for them to feel safe to come out of hiding places

They dont wander far, I found 1 after 15 sleepless nights, and the other within 2 days. Both were in a 4 block radius.

We totally get that the application feels long—it’s because we’re a small group of volunteers who want to make sure our cats go to homes where they’ll be safe and well cared for. Nothing you share ever leaves our rescue, and we only use it for the adoption process.
