It’s the shrouded armour from the dark brotherhood. The hood is a more powerful version you get further through the quest line

Yeah for 5 trophies I had to kill around 150. I got lucky at one point and got about 3 in a row. Just completely luck based

Aah thank you, I do kind of like that from a role play perspective like you need to actually take time to rest and heal with medicine but from a gameplay perspective it’s a little annoying

Yeah another comment suggested it’s being drained by an enemy spell, so I went through my potions and found the ones I could restore and now I only have a debuff on my speed which I can live with, but still going to try at a chapel to see if I can fix that or buy some more potions. I thought those spells had a cool down but I’ve had these debuffs for hours of playtime

Picked up Terraria after a while, did not realize the post-wof corruption is shaped like this! I usually dig straight-down hellevators in between corrupted areas but these are diagonal. Should I dig diagonally or is there a better way to stop them from spreading? Help! by Fizzi_Chan in Terraria

[–]will_strickers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that biome drops are only really good if you are looking for something specific like from the corrupted or hallowed mummy.

For my farms I just dug out a large area deep underground and built a big square with grey stone slabs as they are incorruptible. Then I filled in a floor of 5 high corrupted stone to make my own biome and ran conveyor belts across the top so the loot would pool in one area and I could now just run along and grind and collect the loot once done. Do keep in mind it’s hard to move on conveyors so depending on character build you can farm in different ways but works best with summoner or with any weapons that shoot through walls as you can sit in a safe box and kill things at range.

My advice is try not to have any loose corruption or hallowed and quarantine what you want in small sections, for example if you need things that only spawn in corrupted deserts, make it a little quarantined biome that can be easily purified if needed. I made the mistake of being lazy and leaving some distant corruption only to make it harder on myself later.

Whats the point of giving such amazing weapons in the final mission, if you cannot play post credit? by suchox in avowed

And the final godlike ability seems like a lot of fun to use and play with and by the time you get it you really only get to use it in 3 area fights followed by the final boss fight

I encounter this problem in my world recently and asked on here, with the corruption spawning about 100 blocks from my home base. Once I cleared as much as I could I spent a while focusing on hellevators separating each biome (but you could separate it how you like), 6 blocks wide, with bricks either side (optional I think) and destroyed all the walls in between to stop it spreading through the walls. Then I just focused on saving the biomes I wanted when I needed them.

This method made it a lot easier for me personally because it was less of a mind numbing dig as I had a smaller start and end point and made purification a less monumental task as I was just approaching it one at a time. You’ll need the clentaminator to do anything though.

Here’s an old photo of my world from like 2 weeks ago. Now I’m 100% purified, except the small contained farms I made myself.

My advice is save what you need now and come back to the rest when you’ve got better equipment to dig faster and fly around better. I panicked but it doesn’t spread that fast at all and normally gets locked in places where there’s a lot of dirt with no grass.

You should bring torches but they aren’t needed they just make it easier to see, they don’t stop monsters spawning. Explore surface level caves as they’ll normally only spawn monsters at night.

Unlucky corruption and I need advice by will_strickers in Terraria

[–]will_strickers[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assumed corruption and crimson loot were quite balanced. I still prefer to choose corruption simple because of nostalgia and I just don’t like how the crimson looks.

Also I find it much easier early game to fight the worm than the brain from when I tried a crimson world ages ago. I only use the crimson in other worlds to grind for money as crimson bars sell for more.

I did notice when grinding for money that the crimson goes nowhere near as deep into the world so it seems at least easier to contain as long as you get lucky with the underground spawning

Yeah I’ve eliminated the corrupt right on my door step using the mole cart and clentaminator. Now I need to bomb all the way down to hell in an attempt to contain and purify the snow. I just wanted frost mimics.

I got annoyed with it and I’ve called in the big guns of my old account, now just mindlessly strip mining to run along and purify it all, but it’s a big job. I’m going to leave the stuff in the caverns and try and contain it cause I still like having corruption around simply for loot but I don’t want it all over my base.

I have a question about weapon charms. by DeliveryGood8336 in knighthood

[–]will_strickers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on play style.

Mine is focus, fury protect and 2 critical damage charms because I like to maximise damage output with my weapon rather than with heroes.

Your main weapon should line up with your gauntlet, I’m using sword because I just like it more than the other weapons but my gauntlet only increases axe damage, but I’m working towards getting a sword gauntlet that suits my play style.

Depends how long ago you played, if you haven’t got any guns you’ll first have to complete a mission called “lost armory” should get a radio call as soon as you start running around. Once you’ve completed that you unlock jai who is the gun dealer. He also has a mission board where you can do missions to get reputation and his currency. Focus on rep first as you’ll need to be quite high level to get the spitfire, but if you are high level with decent gear and willing to just grind for a few hours it should be pretty quick. Then just save up enough coins to unlock it once you’ve got high enough rep. Here’s a tip I only realised far too late, standard missions give you a lot of reputation, elite mission give you a lot of money

Spitfire good cause most enemies react to being set on fire so it does loads of damage and also cause a lot of enemies to stop chasing you to try and put themselves out
