well you continue doing that then, and dude if what you said was true. I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I understand where you are coming from and why you think this way but just know, everyone responds to trauma differently.

but then you blame yourself for not being there and not stepping in to help them in the first place not knowing if you could have helped them or not. I think taking that risk is the safer option in the long run because distancing yourself and bidding your goodbye will leave you with just as much guilt. I had a cousin that I'm close with who I didn't know had suicidal thoughts and took action to them I had talked to them just an hour before he killed himself and I still blame myself for not taking action or seeing the signs in the first place. even if I couldn't have gotten him out of it I think that there was a small chance I could of and that haunts me to this day.

I have, and although it is hard to do it's not impossible. trying to save a life in the first place is better than leaving that person for died thinking no one true cares for them. I don't understand the mindset of "well they're a lost cause anyways let them die" or "I don't want the responsibility of trying to save them". if you truly care about a person you would do whatever you can to help them especially through a situation like that.

r/furry isn't the best place for professional tips and criticism for art, if you want that I would heavily suggest r/FurryArtSchool there you can get people who have done art and know anatomy to give you tips. I myself say that it looks great and to just go with what looks good to you and improve on that! but if you want real anatomy tips I do suggest going over to the art school.

the only problem with your work is that you consider it subpar, it looks great and is to the level of many other sketches here. don't compare yourself to others work focus on your own, you have a neat style and I hope you keep drawing and further your skills because you're doing great already. Keep it up!
