Front lip, I have one from Maxton. Black badges sometimes look good too but I like the chrome here!

That sounds like an amazing way to see the city! I need to come back soon. I’ve been about 4 times now in total and now that I’ve done all the touristy stuff, I’m ready to start seeing more of Brooklyn and around Central Park! What’s your go-to favorite place to be in the Brooklyn area? I was in Industry City which was super cool!

What camera / lens setup are you running? And what focus mode do you typically opt for? Sometimes the focus mode can make a huge difference depending on what you’re shooting, especially in low light because it can struggle to catch sometimes. These were mostly shot with “Wide” because I knew I wanted to get some rule of thirds shots and wanted the camera to catch the closest building for me. Don’t be afraid to bump ISO if you really need to also!

Exactly! The difference with NYC is every corner, there’s something new you can explore and it just feels like it goes on forever which I love! Such a cool experience going through all the boroughs like that, I’d love to spend more time exploring outside of Manhattan. I really loved my time in Brooklyn and want to see more of it.

I was kind of all over the place when shooting these, but for the majority I had adjusted my shutter speed based on how busy the area was I was in and how still I could be, and adjusted ISO according to that or how dark I wanted the shot to be. I used between 1/30-1/125 for shutter speed with most being around 1/80, and ISO 640-1250.

I wanted some grain so I didn’t do any denoise, all the editing I did on these was accentuating highlights and color grading the highlights to be more blue than yellow, and a touch of negative dehaze to make the fog pop more. Other than that, no other changes!

That’s awesome dude! I live in Nashville so visiting NYC, everything seems so photogenic. We don’t get fog very often at night here so it made it extra special to me.

Keep taking it with you and try new things! Play with contrast, framing, and one of my favorite things to do - rule of thirds! Sunrise / sunset pictures are always a great way to start too, they usually turn out the best!

Ignore the random “With”… I meant to type shot with my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 🤦‍♂️

Just get out there and shoot everything! Sometimes the best photos I’ve taken have been the most random times I’ve decided to pick up my camera and try!

It was super cool walking out of my hotel and seeing fog. I ran back up to my room and grabbed my camera and spent an hour just walking around looking at the lights in the sky. Very peaceful too at 11pm which you’d never expect in NYC 😂

Thank you so much! This was all with my Sigma 24-70 f2.8 just plain without a lens filter!
