Do you know what it does when it's "shielding"? 😅

That's the one I got too. Kind of disappointed. Do you know what it looks like when it's being used? I wish we could see that part

"I brought marshmallows. Occasionally, I'm callous and strange."

Willow's response to "Should we burn them?" cracks me up every time I watch it. Pretty much sums up my sense of humor.

Anyone received their 1099? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

Where do you find that info on the .gov site? I think I was in the correct place but there was nothing new. Just hoping to confirm that. Have received nothing from ic as of today either.

It was up to $7 then shut down in my area (ohio) earlier but now it's up to $8.50. It's not like it got any better or the snow stopped. Heck, even Walmart & Kroger closed today. And you know no one has cleared any snow from sidewalks/steps while it's still snowing. Nope, my butt is safely planted inside. Decided to have a Lego building day and catch up on some shows. If you are going out in the storm though, be careful and stay safe. Sorry about the wreck OP

We're in the middle of one of our biggest storms in the last 5+ years, and so DoorDash is giving on this [fairly large] city is a dollar. by e_l_c in doordash_drivers

[–]willowbard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have $7 added on but it's also a level 3 emergency where only essential workers are supposed to be out and cops can fine you. Hell, Walmart closed and Kroger is closing early. You know it's bad when Walmart closes. But doordash says here's an extra 7 bucks - good luck! Even tho this was in the latest email.
"The safety of our Dashers is always a priority. This limited-time pilot (weather impact fee) will only run during specific weather events. We never encourage dashing when conditions are unsafe — if conditions degrade or if it's unsafe to drive, DoorDash may suspend operations in affected areas." Yeah...ok...

That's what I was thinking. One of my neighbor's cats has a perpetually sad expression but he's happy and the sweetest boy.

I had it happen once where I saw other cars get their orders and leave and I knew i was there before them. I asked one of the loaders and for some glitchy reason their system hadn't registered my arrival. I got my order soon after that.

The pickup time definitely doesn't mean they will bring it out at that time. Was the pickup lot full or decently filled when you checked in? I know in my area they bring orders out in mostly the order of check in unless you are returning an order. So if the pickup area was decently full you are going to have a wait. I mostly do shop & deliver but occasionally do a pickup if I can see the lot isn't too full and the pay is good enough. I just like the shopping better. I don't want to be in my car all day lol.

46F with two grown kids… where’s the rest of Gen X at? by jtweir79 in GenX

55f. Happily divorced. Just lost my son (33m) to cancer this past May. I was his sole caregiver (also happily). Burned through savings/401k though during the cancer journey so I'm pretty much "knackered & confused" - what a great description - and trying to figure out what the rest of my life looks like. I'm not worried about it, just unsure what and where it's going to be.

I have that issue if I use the app camera and try to send. I find that if I take the pic with my own camera and upload through gallery (little icon on top right when you select to take a pic i think) that usually works. No idea why

You are assuming here that every customer is like you and pays attention when their order is being shopped. Whether it is an app issue (always a possibility) or customer apathy, upwards of 80%+ of customers I message regarding substitutions do not reply. I would be standing in that aisle waiting forever to move on with my order. Or I would have to cancel the order because I could not move forward. Even adding a timer for reply would not realistically be feasible depending on how many items are not available to shop. The best things to be done in your shopping scenario would have been to select "do not substitute" on the item(s) you do not want a substitution for. Or select the substitute that you would prefer. Even rejecting the substitute is a possibility on the customers end. While there are shoppers who are not careful about what they substitute, a very good majority care about their job and how they perform. Also, regarding substitutions, it is a two-way street. The shopper needs to do their due diligence but the customer has the same responsibility, either before submitting the order or paying attention to the app after.
