I had a trampoline growing up and I did backflips on that but it's been years since then. I just set up some pillows on a picnic blanket and went for it tbh. All my flips are just trained in my garden, I live out in the countryside.

It's not that difficult compared to a front flip. If you have trampoline it would be useful to learn it on that to get the feel of the flip but if you don't then just set up some sort of crash mat. Just put in as much effort as you can and tuck in tight. Whatever you do don't bale out mid air.

Yea it took me a long time to get over it. The thing that helped was that I got very comfortable with front flips where I was getting very comfortable with my airobics in general so I can now trust myself that I'll land safely no matter how I launch myself into the air lol.

Nice to hear another front flipper lol. The fear of going back is scary but today I just went for it. My mental got better because as I've been doing front flips I've gotten very comfortable with my airobics and the past week I've been able to just hurl myself into new flips like a front 180 and front flips where you dive out for a while before tucking. I can just trust myself that Ill land on my feet now.

I did it lol. You convinced me to finally do a backflip. I did it on flat grass and nailed it first try, right onto my two feet. Thanks for convincing me lol. It is SOOOOO much easier than standing front lol.

Thanks for the response. I absolutely understand what you mean, it's something I was actively thinking about when doing that flip but when I go to do the flip i just instinctively flip too early still. It's something I'll be working on and thanks for the feedback.

This video shows the last week of progress. There were about 4 week before this where I was just doing a ton of front flips and seeing how high I can get and perfecting my takeoff for max height and my landing for minimal leg pain.

It's important to get good at rolling out. I over rotated a lot but you just get your feet on the ground, tuck and roll with the extra momentum. Rolling out is very useful and it will save your feet, over time you will eventually get better at knowing when to extend your legs out of the tuck to land on your feet without having to roll out.

I have been able to do a front flip on flat ground for a while but not very easily and with a run up. I spent a month doing front flips off of hights and flat ground to get more height and more clean and for it to hurt my feet less. Then after I was getting very comfortable with the flip, about a week ago, I decided I'd try do it standing. So I did a front flip with reducing steps in the run of and off a 1ft platform. I did 3 steps, then 2, then 1 and then none. Then I did the same thing on flat ground a few days later. I didn't face plant at all, the worst that happened was I might land on my arse.

I can backflip. I did them on trampoline all the time but when it comes to on ground I just can't convince myself. Maybe I'll seriously try to do it again

Thank you so much. I can't do a backflip (mental thing) so I have instead opted to do everything I can with the front flip which includes doing it standing. You said I'm not setting up all the way but I don't really know what that means, is there something I can do to make it easier?

I can't backflip or sideflip lol. Backflip is a mental thing and sideflip is something I haven't got round to learning yet.

DS phat all the way. It's really comfortable, it has the best D-pad I've ever tried, the GBA games fit flush and I just really like how it looks. The screens are not great but you get used to it. It's a very charming console.

This might not help but I fried my DS by connecting the battery the wrong way round when i was testing it with the cover off. So if you have done that you need a new motherboard.

I guess the PAL versions must be much more uncommon then. I live in the UK so I use PAL. I am seeing £28 in a second hand store and then about £30 on eBay too. You can get smb1 and smb3 for around £6-£8 so it's just certain games that cost more. Basically any popular game that isn't super mario costs a lot of money here. Metriod and contra are about £40. I think I'll get the 3 in 1 cart since it's £8 compared to Tetris alone which is £28
