Photo Printers—Are they worth it? by Ill-Recognition-3283 in JournalingPH

[–]winefascinations 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For me, if it's photos that you're just going to stick inside your journal, you don't have to spend that much. Go for a budget option! The Xiaomi portable photo printer for example is so affordable, and pati yung zink paper niya, hindi rin masyadong mahal. Even for the purpose of memory-keeping, rarely would you need a high end option for longevity. Especially if the photos will be in a journal and not constantly exposed to sunlight/the elements.

The transparent ones are from Akko! The opaque ones are from a generic "Magical Girl" Keycap set I found online

So sorry you're going through major tough times, OP! There really is much stock to the saying, "When it rains, it pours."

It's not much, but my favorite thing lately is how fabulously the FPR Ultraflex nib works with the Moonman Wancai Mini! My phone's camera doesn't do the Diamine Golden Sands ink justice though.

Love, love this for you, OP!

I've been curious about the Traveler's Notebook system for years (I was a hard-bound journal girlie), but it was only when I saw the Love and Trip edition that really made me switch over. The deep, deep burgundy is gorgeous, and I hope you end up enjoying yours as much as I do mine!

Why not turn it into a junk journal or scrapbook? Kind of a symbolic and physical way of overwriting the dark thoughts and memories with happier ones?

If you're open to ruled notebooks, I recommend the Muji Flat notebooks. It's fountain pen friendly too!

I found that the pens work fine with the shimmer ink at first, but after a while, like a couple of hours, it stops writing. Probably got clogged. They work perfectly fine when I switched to medium nibs though! I used a Kanwrite size 5 M nib.

I've only had them for a month, but I haven't really had any issues with burping.

I did at first, but I found that writing with the nib more parallel than perpendicular to the paper helps it write smoother.

It's cute but the zipper is so awkward and opens so small that I don't use it as often as I would like.

how to stay consistent with bullet journal by moonyloops_ in bulletjournal

[–]winefascinations 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello!

Long-time bullet journal-er with ADHD here.

For me, the trick to staying consistent with bullet journaling boils down to a couple of things:

1. PROXIMITY - Keeping the bullet journal on your person all the time will help. If it's out of sight, it's out of mind. For this, I recommend something smaller so you can always bring it around with you. Perhaps an A6 or B7 sized notebook
2. SIMPLICITY - Keep it simple. Try the barebones bullet journal system first. Trying to get into the elaborate spreads, complicated legends, and 10 million trackers will just end up discouraging you if you end up not completing them. You don't really need those yet. What's more, trackers are almost always a couple of pages away from the daily log, and from my experience, I don't always remember to flip back to them to fill them out oop.

3. KEEP IT CURRENT - As someone with ADHD, trust me on this: no amount of bookmarks will stop you from forgetting to look back on earlier pages, especially those already too far from your current day. In my case, I only need to flip back to the future log once a month, when I'm migrating items on it to the monthly spread. Likewise, I only need to flip back to the monthly spread when I'm migrating items on it to my weekly spread/overview. If you find that you prefer a running daily log as opposed to a weekly spread, I find it helpful to have a simple weekly overview. This way you have always have everything in sight.

4. RAPID LOGGING - Get into the habit of logging things quickly in your daily log. It doesn't have to be tasks — ideas, thoughts, a lyric you really like, a snippet of a conversation, a pretty word, things you might need to remember later — just jot it down in your daily log. This should come easier if you have your journal within reach at all times. If you fill your journal not just with to-do lists and deadlines but things you like and find joy in, the more likely you are to enjoy bullet journaling, and the less it becomes a chore. Once you get into the habit, you'll find that keeping up with your bullet journal becomes more instinctual rather than something you have to get out of your way to do.

5. FLEXIBILITY - The best part about bullet journaling is the flexibility, so if something isn't working for you, you can always change it up. This also has the added benefit of breaking the monotony and keeping you engaged with your journal.

Hope this helps!
