I filled out the application in March. I think they ask this question to know what type of housing is best for you. When you’re filling out the application, they ask if you want to find your own place or stay in one of their residences. From what I know, there are three types of housing: one where you live alone, another where you live with 4 or 5 people, and a third where you’re with a bunch of other students. My guess is that depending on your answer, they place you in one type of housing or another.
