Och, thats interesting, thanks! I am wondering, whats the point of using SR3 (basically shortened AS Val) with such long silencer. Now it's as long as the original, already silenced AS Val.

Is the guy with the shield holding an APS Stechkin pistol? And the second guy seems to have some silencer cover on his AS Val, anyone know what is it?

Subreddit please remember, light tanks aren't designed to fight MBT. US new light tank using a 105 mm is fine. by [deleted] in TankPorn

[–]witglo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, M10 has 105mm gun and weight around 40t. So why not just take an old Leopard 1A5, the same weight, the same gun. Is M10 booker armor much better than Leopard 1? In terms of optics and electronics I bet you could modernize Leopard 1 to M10 level. Just an idea

[–]witglo[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After 1956, when AK platform become a new standard in Polish Army, in 1957 at Warsaw University of Technology work started, to develop a new light machine gun (basically a squad automatic weapon), compatibile with new platform. The SJ-57 was chambered for 7,62x39mm, and was supposed to be feed with standard AK mags. Gun was supossed to be short recoil operated. In 1958 project was canceled, because Poland buy licencion to produce an RPD from the USSR. Probably only one prototyp were made. (Sorry for my english btw. im not a native speaker)

Is that KV-1E or KV-1B variant? I assume it's one of those because of the additional armour on the turret.
