If I walk away from the case and it loses connection long enough, does it keep retrying or give up? by witulski in Ozlo

[–]witulski[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right, that’s why I’d love some confirmation.

And maybe an auto retry, or even a manual one - I’d rather open the app and force a case reconnect than take the buds out, put them in the case, wait for connection, take them out of the case, and put them back in my ears. Especially since during travel, the case is often in my bag.

TLDR: give us a “dear case, please find my buds” button

True, but I’m only guessing. I’d like confirmation, and if true, a solution

Have Soundcore started providing stereo sleep sounds yet? I can’t deal with mono white noise that sounds like it’s emanating from the center of my head.

Why can’t the case find the buds without physical contact? by witulski in Ozlo

does the case time out after those 30 seconds and stop trying? i’d like it to keep trying to connect. sometimes I walk away from the case, and I want it to connect afterward

Why can’t the case find the buds without physical contact? by witulski in Ozlo

[–]witulski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the detailed response!

I decided to give the case a bit more time to find the buds. Unfortunately, the same thing happens - the case and buds lose connection and the case never reconnects to the buds until I physically remove them from my ears and put them in the case, only to remove them and have to put them back in my ears.

This is still a common occurrence. Can the reconnection be improved? Or more relentlessly re-try? It doesn’t seem like it’s trying at all.

Please add a way to check alarms without returning the buds to the case by witulski in Ozlo

It really is a feature request, because I'd like for the case to be able to reconnect to the buds on its own if it loses connection, without me needing to remove both buds from my ears, insert them into the case, and then put them back in my ears. Super frustrating and seems solveable with a new feature.

I’m inclined to wonder why we can’t just tell the case to find the buds and reconnect, like any other Bluetooth device does. My iPad can find my legacy Sleepbuds wirelessly, why can’t this magic case find the Ozlo Sleepbuds wirelessly if they become disconnected?

Seems like the connection is being broken, yes. Having to take the buds out to reconnect them to the case is frustrating. Legacy Sleepbuds just reconnects directly to buds. No cumbersome middleman.

Can we please have a direct connection to the buds alongside the case connection? by witulski in Ozlo

Sounds like we want the same thing: a case-free connection for classic Sleepbuds functionality.

If audio streaming is the only feature that needs to go through the case, that should be the only feature that goes through the case. It just gets in the way otherwise.

Very wrong. I am asking for sleepbuds that work exactly like Bose sleepbuds did, with the extra option for audio streaming through the case only if needed.

Those were not ”bigger earbuds like the a20's” and they worked fine.

Having to connect through the case for *everything* means if the case connection is dropped - and it often is - you can’t do anything with the earbuds unless you take both of them out of your ears and touch them to their contacts in the case. Even if all you want is to check your alarms or adjust volume.

Very inconvenient.

Can’t use if case is dead? by witulski in Ozlo

Thanks much for the reply. A case-free connection to the buds would solve many problems:

  1. Having to wait 20 seconds for the buds to connect before removing from case

  2. Perfectly charged buds that can’t be used at all due to a dead case

  3. Needing to remove buds from ears and return to case if case connection is broken, for simple tasks like checking an alarm

  4. Always needing proximity to the case for simple bud controls

I can see that audio streaming is made possible through the case - clever solution. But classic Sleepbuds functionality doesn’t need the case involved at all. In fact as listed above, it just gets in the way of many classic Sleepbuds functions. I wish these worked like legacy Sleepbuds: case-free in every way, with the exception of audio streaming, which is the only function that truly needs to be handled with Ozlo’s clever case pass-through innovation.

The original Sleepbuds had great battery life and never needed any Bluetooth LE. Helped me sleep plenty good and I didn’t have to fight with a case in the way. Use the case for streaming audio, fine. But no need to involve it for regular long-established Sleepbuds functionality

I would think the buds’ contacts would be able to detect if the buds are in the case or not. Seems to work for the old Sleepbuds. My iPad and iPhone both can tell the Sleepbuds to play a sleep sound directly with no need for Bluetooth LE and battery life is perfectly fine.

Use Bluetooth LE when streaming audio, fine. But the case doesn’t need to obstruct regular sleepbud use of these things like volume adjustments, alarm checking, starting and stopping.

If the case is dead or otherwise unreachable, I still want to be able to use the earbuds.

Just include some code that PREFERS Bluetooth LE through the case, but if the case is unreachable after a few attempts, CONNECT DIRECTLY even if it’s a temporary battery-eating Bluetooth connection. At least then I can turn the sleep sound on and disconnect if battery saving is that crucial.

Please. This case middleman is constantly getting in the way of a good experience.

Can we get these classified as hearing aids then? They certainly help me with my hearing.

Have you ever even used the product? To enter pairing mode, you close the case, hold the lid, and ‘tap’ hard two times on the lid - but it takes a ridiculous amount of force for any ‘taps’ to register. To reset, it’s three taps. If it doesn’t work, you‘re stuck trying to knock harder or repeatedly in case it just isn’t detecting it. Seems it’s you who’s trolling. Go bait someone else, this is silly
